Yes, it's #1 again... I had a fun meeting today that I wanted to tell you about. Over the last couple of days, my French cohorts and I have been visiting a number of Percheron breeding farms across Iowa. Everywhere we have been, we have received the warmest of welcomes, and we have met some outstanding pussycats and woofies along the way.
One of the guys we met, on Monday afternoon, will strike a cord in the heart of many of our American friends. Mr. Robert Detweiler was, for 11 years, the guy who looked after and drove the world-famous Budweiser eight-horse hitch of Clydesdales! He is originally from Iowa and is now back in his home state, breeding his own Percherons and Shires, as well as looking after some other people's horses. The thing is that Mr. RD just LOVES pussycats. They are everywhere on his farm, and they are clearly hugely appreciated by their human because they in turn love all humans. As soon as you get there, they get into meet and greet mode and demand to be held and petted!
As the giant horses are shown, they lounge about at their feet!
As a bonus photo, here is a magnificent stallion who comes from Atlantic Canada. Mr. RD found him in a field in New Brunswick and snapped him up! His names is Prince, aka "The Beast!"
It was so wonderful to see the giant horse guy totally in love with his pussycats as well as his horses!
