Saturday "Selebration" With Heloise!

 

Heloise: Guess what, everyone? Yesterday was my FIFTH BIRTHDAY! #1 came to visit and brought me carrots and apples. It had been a while since I had seen her and there have been some changes over here. The Big V's #1 girl, Aral, has moved to new pastures in central France, where she will be making babies. So, I am now his #1 girl!

Anyneigh, I am now five years old, and I am really glad that #1 was able to come and celebrate with me (Ms. C is away until Sunday on a job). #1 has been part of my life ever since the day I was born. Here is a pic she took on that day, back in 2017, with my beautiful mama, Hotesse:

Here I am, at two days old, and also having my first cuddle with #1!

As you can see, #1 and I were meant for one another right from the start!

I was 14 months old when I first came to Ms. C's for "basic training" and met The Big V:

I even got to go to a show!

When I was two, I decided I wanted to be with #1 so I went to visit her:

It took almost another year and the help of many people, but in March 2020, I moved to Ms. C's, along with my Mama, Hotesse, and there we joined my half-sis, Violette, and The Big V!

#1 always tells me that I am the most beautiful girl! 

I have been having lessons, intermittently, and I hope that, this year, it will finally be possible for me to be driven and ridden. #1 and Ms. C say I am a very good student.

I consider myself to be a very lucky girl, and I hope I will always make my #1 happy.

Feline Friday

 

Benny: You remember the other day when I said the best way to take a good photo of me was to make sure my eyes are visible? Well, we have gone one better than that!

Eyes? Check. Tongue? Check. Dangles? Check!

Tama-Chan: Mr. G and Ms. N came over for tea yesterday and Mr. G took this nice photo of me. Of course, I always look good in photos. No artifice required...

Thankful Thursday

 

Hotesse: Wise neighs, everyone! Mama Hotesse here! Ms. C is away this week and a nice lady, Ms. P, is coming by to give me my meds for my arthritis. She told me that #1 would come and see us tomorrow. I am so thankful for that!

Tama-Chan: I am so thankful #1 is back that I can't stop laughing!

Benny: I have been singing with joy!

Ollie: I am thankful, so I posed nicely for her in the garden!

Woofie Wednesday

 

Ollie: Woofs, everyone! Now that #1 is back, we're spending time in the garden  again. She is paying the price of overdoing it in Belgium and her foot and leg are quite sore, so she sits and watches me. She took this pic of me yesterday. The fresh green of spring is so pretty!

When Mr. G was looking after me, I got to see my friend Paddie, who is his sister's woofie. Paddie and I always have a great time together!

Tama-Chan Tuesday

 

Tama-Chan: She's back! She's back! #1 is back! We missed her, even though Mr.G looked after us very well, as always.

I immediately took up my position next to #1 and we took a selfie:

All is well with the world again!

By the way, on the day she left for Belgium, #1 heard that she had passed her qualification as a Level 1 stewards in para-dressage for the FEI (International Equestrian Federation). The stewards are the people who ensure the well-being of both horses and riders during competitions, as well as organise training schedules, supervise stables, etc. etc. #1 was able to shadow the experienced stewards when she was in Belgium, in preparation for starting to be at shows in an official capacity, hopefully soon.

Thankful Thursday

 

Ollie: First of all, we are thankful that #1 made it safely to Belgium yesterday! Now, even though the two kitties don't necessarily always see eye to eye, we are thankful to be a family and share our home with #1. We always miss her when she is gone, although we are thankful that Mr. G takes such great care of us!

Tama-Chan Tuesday

 

Tama-Chan: Yes, you heard right. #1 is leaving us again. Can you believe that? She is barely walking again and she is going to another para-dressage competition... It is in Belgium, just across the French border from Lille. She is crazy! She says it is the only way to get better and that sitting on her derriere isn't going to do it. So, she is leaving tomorrow morning, by car, and won't be back until next Monday. Mr. G is waiting in the wings, as usual, but I still think it's unfair.

She won't be here for several days to share breakfast with.

This, in case you are wondering, is called a "Depression Dangle"

We have had some nice and warmer weather over the past few days so I was able to enjoy some window whiffies.

We will just have to survive and cross our paws that she comes back in better shape than last time. Be careful, #1!

I couldn't go with #1 when she went to see the horses and my girls last week. Something to do with heat? Anyway, she snapped this one of my daughter, Lily. She does a pretty good Springer Sprawl, don't you think?

Benny: #1 says that the secret to taking decent pics of me is to make sure that you can see my eyes, so here you go:

Snuggles on Sunday

 

Tama-Chan: Welcome to our weekly SoS post. Let me start by wishing a Happy Easter to those who celebrate. So, this week, we will start with some horsey snuggles as it's been a while since we had some.

Here is #1 with Miss Violette. It's more of a selfie, really, but we like it!

Needless to say, the Big V is always happy to snuggle!

Especially when there are treats involved! Of course, this also meant that he ran constant interference as #1 was trying to give Heloise treats and get a shot with her.

And that completes our snuggle shots for this week. #1's leg continues to improve and, believe it or not, she is planning to leave us again to go to a big para-dressage competition in Belgium from April 20 to 25. We'll tell you more about that in the next couple of days.
