Sei-Chan's Souvenir Saturday

Rainbow Sei: So, today is All Hallows Eve, the time when those of us, two or four-legged,  who have crossed the Bridge are remembered. It is fitting that it should be on a Saturday this year, and it is also the Full Moon. I am going to try and see if I can find photos of us taken on October 31st, so here goes.

To start with, here is a nice one of me in a sunpuddle, taken on October 31st, 2017:

This cute pic of Ikkyu dates from November 1st, 2003. Close enough, right?

Sen-Chan actually came home on October 31st, 2007, so today would have been his Gotcha Day!

Yuu-Chan was not with us for very long, and #1 was in Japan on October 31st, 2009, but here he is on November 3rd, 2009:

Yuu-Chan and I adored one another, and here is a sweet one of the two of us together on the same day:

Here is a nice one of Tommy in the woods from October 31st, 2012:

And Tommy is also in the back of this shot of Da Beebs in the cat run, taken on October 31st, 2013:

This is not the most exciting pic of Trav, but it shows him fast asleep on top of his shelter in the garage, and next to his food bowls, on October 31st, 2015:

We wish you all a Happy Halloween. Please stay safe!

Ollie's Fabulous Birthday Friday!

#1 here. Last year, when Ollie celebrated his first birthday, I was on the other side of the world, in Japan.  It was Mr. G and Ms. N who helped him celebrate that enormous milestone. This year, we had been planning to have a celebratory birthday dinner, but have had to cancel because of our new confinement, although Mr.G and Ms. N will sneak over this afternoon for tea and "bones"!

Ollie has come such a long way since the day he arrived at Poupounette Central:

He was lucky to have a mentor as wonderful as Fernant! Someone he could really look up to!

He was very snuggly right from the beginning!

And intrepid!

Pretty soon, he and Genji became friends:

This is me and Ollie when he was 4 months old:

As Ollie grew, his tongue seemed to grow even more!

He got to meet Tommy's sister, Sophie!

And got to go the beach for the first time!

Here we are together when he was 11 months old:

Pretty soon, Ollie was a match for Fernant in size!

When I had my knee surgery in late January, Ollie stayed with Mr. G and family, and got to play with Paddy, who belongs to his sister!

During the spring confinement, Ollie helped a lot with gardening:

And here we are when Ollie was 18 months:

And Ollie grew ever more handsome!

He got to go on an adventure in Normandy in August:

And now he is 2 years old! This photo of the two of us was taken yesterday:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, OLLIE POO! You have grown into a wonderful boy, handsome, sweet and playful. You stepped into a pretty gigantic pair of shoes and you are filling them beautifully!

Genji's Thankful Thursday

Genji: Mee-Yow, Everyone! I wanted to say thank you to all of you who purred for me last weekend. I am good again, and eating all my food!

We have had a lot of rain recently. We are not complaining because we had no rain at all for a long, long time. But we do miss the sunpuddles when they go away. Fortunately, #1 is always ready with her camera when they do appear, and I am thankful that I was able to enjoy some nice ones yesterday, and #1 caught me in the act!

Those of you who follow international news may have seen that France has announced a new period of confinement, starting tonight and lasting at least until December 1st. #1 is hoping that she will stil be able to visit the horses. We will find out later today.

Woofie Wednesday

Ollie: When she's talking with her friends here and there on the phone, #1 keeps going on about "strange times" and not knowing where we're going, but I have to tell you... I love it that she's always here, and we still get to go on some fun adventures together!

On Monday, after it had rained all weekend, the sun came out. The forecast was for more rain from Tuesday, so #1 said this was the perfect time to go on an adventure to her favourite autumn colour site. It may still be a little early, but worth a try. So, we got in the car, and drove 25 minutes to this lovely pond called "Etang de la Herse". Woofies were supposed to be on leads, plus she doesn't really trust me in an unfamiliar setting, so we took our extra-long lead with us.

It was beautiful!

There were so many great smells and places to explore!

We met this really cool guy called Chase. He wasn't on a lead, and really lived up to his name! His family was American, by the way!

We had a great time, although it was a little nostalgic for #1. For many years, she always used to go to this place with Tommy

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: Can you believe that October is almost gone? Our clocks went back last weekend, and it's now almost dark by 6pm. Sigh...

The season being what it is, I have taken up my winter quarters in the little comfy igloo on the landing. It is just supremely cozy!

Of course, I do still venture downstairs for meals and when there are sunpuddles. Yesterday, it was unexpectedly sunny after raining all weekend, and before the rain came back last night, so I enjoyed a bath in the sun:

And the kitchen radiator remains a favourite, especially when I know that #1 is preparing something yummy:

Such as chicken!

Things seem to be spiralling out of control in France, with a huge increase in the number of people testing positive for the virus. The area where we live has so far been spared the sterner measures such as the 9pm curfew that has been imposed over half of the country, but we are wondering how long that will last. Stay safe, everyone!

Manly Monday

Vidock: Handsome Neighs, EveryFriend! I bet you were worried that you wouldn't get to see me today, as #1 hasn't been able to visit us. But have no fear! Ms. C came through and sent #1 some great pics. She was so happy!

Apples? Apples? Did you say apples?

Ms. C took this fun pic of my (wet) back, with my beloved Aral in the back.. It's been raining a lot!

But I couldn't leave you without a portrait, could I?

Genji: I am pretty happy with this whiskery portrait that #1 took of me:

#1 says I am hard to beat on the Frootbats and whiskers!

Ollie: Yes, but we know who wins when it comes to tongues!

Have a great week, everyone!
