Genji's Birthday Tuesday!

Genji (aka The Shining Prince): Hello everyone! Today is my birthday and I am 9 years old! #1 keeps saying that she just can't believe it, and that I shall always be her baby.

I have something interesting to tell you in this age of the Coronavirus. Some of you may remember that, just over 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with Feline Coronavirus, which is what causes FIP. You can see that post here. As you may know, Coronavirus is quite prevalent in cats and those who test positive many never develop the awful symptoms of FIP. So far, I have been lucky, and we are all crossing paws, hooves and fingers that I shall stay that way. Following that initial bout of pancreatitis, I remain fragile and #1 watches me like a hawk and makes sure I eat well. She has refined various strategies to get me eating again when I go off my food from time to time.

Anyway, let us take a little trip down memory lane:

This is the first photo that #1 saw of me, and she naturally fell in love with me!

I flew up to Paris from South-West France with my breeder, and #1 met me at the airport. I liked her right away:

I settled into my new home very quickly and nobody even hissed at me! Tommy took me under his paw:

And Da Beebs was a great big brother:

Many happy years followed and then, Sei-Chan was gone, and then Tommy was gone, and then Beebs was gone. It was a very sad time. But #1 decided to go beyond the sadness and little Ollie arrived. He and I quickly became best friends:

Here are some of my nice portraits taken over the years:

Here are my birthday shots for this year, one of which shows off my whiskers and another my GloBats!

And this one shows both off!

Ollie is still my best pal!

From #1: To my little Blue Boy, the greatest snuggler ever, I wish that you will continue to defy the odds and brighten up Poupounette Central for many, many more years💖💕💝💙💜💖

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GENJI!

Manly Monday

Genji: We are now into week 3 of confinement in France, and we know we have at least two more weeks to go, although #1 suspects it might last longer. Of course, as #1 is home with us, all is right with our world, and it's just a question of whether she can take fabulous photos of us at this time!

Here is a pic of me sitting on the cat tree in the kitchen and looking very serious:

As the weather was nice, I did venture out into the cat run a little:

Ollie: #1 took this really nice pic of me a few days ago:

By the way, #1 thinks I must be part cat becomes I LOVE moving lights. In the afternoon, the sun comes in from our side window and there is a crystal hanging there. She took this pic as I was looking at one of the reflections:

Vidock: Remote neighs, EveryFriend! As I cannot send #1 any new pictures of myself, I asked her to choose a couple of nice earlier  pics of me to post. She found these from 2017. I like them, and I hope you do too!

Have a good week, stay in, and stay well!

Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: #1 says that she is beginning to lose track of what day of the week it is, and thank goodness for the blog which keeps her straight!

We have had nice weather all week and have been snuggling. The weather is supposed to be grey and quite cold over the next 2-3 days, so we will be snuggling even more!

Let me start with one of me and Ollie, each on one side of #1 as she reclined on the sofa. Cool, don't you think?

And another. We do this quite a lot:

And one of just me:

Genji prefers solo snuggling, when he can have #1 all to himself:

Stay well and healthy, Dear Friends!

Souvenir Saturday

Rainbow Tommy: I got a special request from #1 to do our post this week and I am happy to oblige. The reason is that the daffodils are beginning to bloom all over the big field and each and everyone makes her think of me. I am so happy she has such lovely memories of me. Here is a reminder photo:

It looks like the world is having a hard time at the moment, with so many people sick and confined. I am happy that young Ollie can still run around the fields next to Poupounette Central.

So I picked a bunch of photos of everyone, for no particular reason. I hope you like them!

Family Friday

Ollie: First of all, thanks for the good thoughts for our H girls. Both of them had lower temperatures last night. The vet is coming again this morning to give them round 2 of their treatment. Hopefully, that will set them right.

Family is so important to all of us, and even more so at difficult times like these. #1 is sad not to be able to go and see the Vs and the Hs, but here are some earlier photos of them:

At home, My buddy Genji and I are hanging out together as much as possible:

Mama Tama has been crossing her paws for the H girls:

Wishing you a good (and probably confined?) weekend!

Thursday Trials

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Everyone. I am posting remotely from Ms. C's. #1 is sadly not allowed ro come and visit us for now.

You remember that we mentioned Heloise had a fever? Well, sadly, my Mama, Hotesse, now has one too. Ms. C got the vet to come out again and she thinks they are both suffering from a tick-borne illness called piroplasmosis. They have both received treatment and will get another dose on Friday morning. We hope they will both recover quickly and completely, but could we please ask for some crossed paws for them? #1 is so sad that se canot visit them.

Here is a pic of me that #1 took recently:

Wildlife Wednesday

Hi! My name is RUSTY an I am one of the red squirrels who live in the countryside around Poupoountte Central. The lady there is really nice to us and puts out a daily buffet of sunflower seeds, walnuts and hazelnuts, so we always have full tummies! The buffet is laid out on the ledge of the window of her office, so she can see us when we visit and she loves to take photos of us. Now the window isn't always very clean, and these days, her zoom lens is smaller than it used to be, but she still manages to take some nice shots of us:

This photo gives you an idea of the feeding station. She also puts out lots of food for the birdies!

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: Now that the UK has also imposed lockdown on its citizens, we are even more thankful that our #1 is safely home with us. Things were difficult enough for her as it was last week, and she says that just thinking what it would have been like this week gives her hives!

Things have been quiet at Poupounette Central. The weather has finally improved but it's jolly cold outside! #1 still puts on full winter gear when she takes Ollie out. I have been working on a new dangle. It's not yet perfect but it is in fact a siting hind leg upward dangle, like so:

As I mentioned, we have had nice sunpuddles recently, and here is a photo of me sunbathing:

#1 was particularly taken by me laying my head on her napkin, as though it were a pillow. She is easily pleased!

And a little cuteness to finish up today's post. Stay safe and well, Dear Friends!

Manly Monday

Ollie: I was very happy when #1 came back on Friday, even though I also love being with Mr. G and family. She told me there were some problems that people were dealing with and so, we can't go and see our horsies for the foreseeable future. We are lucky to have a big garden and to live at the end of a lane, so it is OK for us to walk up our lane, so I can still get my exercise.

I will start with a couple of photos that Mr. G took last week, of me and the two Lab girls he looks after:

And here are some photos that #1 took yesterday at home:

Genji: I was also so happy when #1 returned! The goings-on outside mean that we will go back to the time just after her surgery and she will be home almost all of the time Hurrah!!!

I hadn't been up into the sky hammock for many, many months, but I rediscovered it yesterday:

And here I am, telling all of you to be good and follow the rules about washing your hands and social distancing!

Vidock: Can you believe it? #1 is not allowed to visit us! So here is a photo of me from a couple of weeks ago. I am still just as handsome!

Please stay safe and well, EveryFriend!
