Fabulous Friday - Genji's 6th Birthday!

Today is a very special day at Poupounette Central! Our Blue boy, Shining Prince GENJI is celebrating his sixth birthday!

When he first arrived here, he was just over three months old and all ears:

He adjusted to his new home and family really well and quickly, and in no time, he had acquired the title of snuggliest kitty in the house . He quickly learned to love Tommy:

And be a great little brother to Da Beebs!

Here he is at the time of his first birthday:

"Da Genj" is the littlest of the Chans in size and weight, but he makes up for it by also being the cheekiest. He gave us a huge scare early last year when he had a really bad pancreatitis attack and was also tested positive for FCV. But his spunky character and round-the-clock care by #1 pulled him through, along with lots and lots of fresh chicken!

Our Blue Boy remains fragile and #1 watches his eating and general state like a hawk and we are happy to day that he has done well so far:

Recently Mr. G took some great photos of him at play!

He loves being out in the run:

Pretending he's a a big, wild cat!

And he loves the hammock in the study (oh, and he has the longest tail of any of us!):

But his favourite place is being glued to #1!

#1 always says it's a good thing he is the lightest among us!

So, A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to  DA GENJ from #1, Tommy, Da Beebs, Tama, Sei, Vidock and Violette. You have grown into a handsome mancat!

Tommy's Thankful Thursday

Tommy: Woofs, everyone! I have to tell you that, even though I had a lot of fun with my Mummy and sisters, there is nothing better than being home with one's #1 and one's pussycats!

The weather has been pretty nice and so #1 and I have been enjoying our romps in the fields:

Yesterday, we bumped into my buddy Joko and his family. He is young and very boisterous, so I gave him some advice on how to become a perfect gentledog.

We also bumped into Basha:

Basha asked if we would include a photo of him for the lovely Loustiquette, and we of course said yes!

And here is a nice pic of me that #1 took:

I am so thankful for my life!

Wednesday Whinnies

Violette: Pretty neighs, everyone! Did you miss us? We sure missed #1 and are so happy she is back! I waited and waited by the barrier and she finally came home!

She told me I was prettier than ever (blush...)

She took this photo from very far away, with a digital zoom, so it's a little blurry. She said I could be a unicorn, if I had a horn...

Vidock: Studly neighs, EveryFriend! I am, as usual, a hard-working boy:

#1 says I am looking ripped again. What do you think?

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: Things are gradually getting back to normal at Poupounette Central, and I thought it was time for me to give you a little update on how I am doing. All the results from the various tests came back whilst #1 was in Japan, and they were negative for everything, including cancer. The conclusion is that I am suffering from some variant of feline eosinophilic disease, caused either by a parasite or over-sensitivity to something (but we don't know what). The standard treatment for this is cortizone and so I am now on a relatively high dose which will be halved after five days and then halved again after another five days, with the aim of giving the lowest possible dosage and eventually stopping altogether. The good news is that #1 has not heard me cough since Saturday. We are crossing all paws that I can be weaned off the Prednisone after a while and will go back to being a happy, healthy kitty.

In the meantime, I am enjoying life:

Watching out for a certain Blue Boy...

Doing a bit of dangling:

And enjoying the cat run. The weather is fabulous at the moment, and #1 put a basket out i the run, with a comfy cushion, just for me!

Thank you, Dear Friends, for all your support when I was going through all those vet visits and medications.

Manly Monday

Vidock: Studly Monday, if you please! #1 is back, the sun is shining, and Mr. JP is pleased with me. Life is good, folks!

Tommy: We "sprang forward" over the weekend so now it's light until after 8pm. More, longer walks for me!!

Da Beebs: Napping on a Peggy's Blankie in a sunpuddle. It doesn't get much better than this!

Da Genj: Same here!

#1 wanted to share one more bit of manliness. A week ago today, she was there for the biggest race of the year in the Japanese Draft Horse Ban'Ei Heavy Pull Race circuit. She decided to bet on a big black stallion called "Ore no Kokoro" (that means "My Heart" in Japanese), and he won! Here he is:

In case you were wondering, he is huge. He weighs almost 2600lb! For comparative purposes, our Big V "only" weighs around 1950lb!

Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: Our poor #1 is suffering from serious jet lag, in addition to being really tired after her mad dash through Japan. She has been taking lots of pics of us since her return but she says that she is not 100% confident that she can turn them into a post that makes sense, so may we ask for your indulgence? We will do our best.

As you can imagine, now that he is back, we have been cuddling up a storm with our Tommy, starting with me:

And of course, Sei-Chan:

And not forgetting my Beebs:

Da Genj, on the other hand, has been very busy with #1...

Violette was very happy to get her carrot from Japan!

 As was Vidock!

We are planning on spending the day snuggling, and recommend that you follow our example!

SenSEItional SEIturday!

Sei-Chan: OYEZ, OYEZ, OYEZ!

I declare this SEIturday to be absolutely SenSEItional in honour of the return of #1 and Tommy from faraway lands!

Well, that was a little bit exhausting. I think I need a snack:

And a nap...

Have a wonderful SEIturday!

Family Friday

Tommy: Woofs, Everyone! Tommy here! I am glad to tell you that I am back with my Chans and #1. Even though she is totally jet-lagged, #1 drove over one and a half hours to get me yesterday because she could not stand one more day of my not being there.

This was the scene at Poupounette Central within minutes of my return:

I think Sei-Chan missed me! When I was at my Mummy's, I snuggled with the kitties there, somewhat to their surprise. My siblings like the kitties but, unlike me, they apparently don't go out of their way to snuggle with them.

This scene was repeated several times during the day:

Treat time, every hour on the hour, is what the Chans would like #1 to understand...

And now, if you will forgive us, we are going to enjoy all being together again!
