Tama-Chan: Things are gradually getting back to normal at Poupounette Central, and I thought it was time for me to give you a little update on how I am doing. All the results from the various tests came back whilst #1 was in Japan, and they were negative for everything, including cancer. The conclusion is that I am suffering from some variant of feline eosinophilic disease, caused either by a parasite or over-sensitivity to something (but we don't know what). The standard treatment for this is cortizone and so I am now on a relatively high dose which will be halved after five days and then halved again after another five days, with the aim of giving the lowest possible dosage and eventually stopping altogether. The good news is that #1 has not heard me cough since Saturday. We are crossing all paws that I can be weaned off the Prednisone after a while and will go back to being a happy, healthy kitty.
In the meantime, I am enjoying life:
Watching out for a certain Blue Boy...
Doing a bit of dangling:
And enjoying the cat run. The weather is fabulous at the moment, and #1 put a basket out i the run, with a comfy cushion, just for me!
Thank you, Dear Friends, for all your support when I was going through all those vet visits and medications.
I'm so glad that the results brought no bad news to you. And I hope that the meds do the trick and that you will need it no longer .... potp and crossed paws for a a super bright kitty-future ;o)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad for all those negatives... but I do hope the cortisone works and you are back to being well again, Tama.
ReplyDeleteI am glad all the test results were good. I hope the Prenisone helps you. I am permanently on a low dose of Prednisalone and it works well for me.
ReplyDeleteTama-Chan, sure am glad you are doing so well. Sure seems like the medicine is working. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteYAY YAY YAY!
ReplyDeleteIn this case, we LOVE LOVE LOVE "negative"!
You have earned your sun spots and dangling. Go forth and do!

That's a great news, Tama-Chan! I hope the cortizone will fully clear your condition! Love the photos, especially the last one :-)
ReplyDeleteCoucou Tama,

How nice for you to have that special basket to enjoy in the sun,Tama. We are happy to hear that all your tests came back good, but it must be hard not knowing what is going on. We hope the prednisone does the trick, Tama.

We're glad to hear you are feeling well and hope the new meds help. You sure look happy out in the cat run in your basket.
ReplyDeleteHopefully this pill will keep you healthy.
ReplyDeleteWe are soooo relieved all of your tests are negative. It just makes your condition a bit more baffling . Have they ruled our early stage asthma , before the lungs shoe pathological changes? Prednisone can be of wonderful help. Like, Flynnie, one of us has been on low dose prednisolone for 2 years and 3 months and all is still well. Labs show no untoward changes. Fear not dear girl, all will be well.
ReplyDeleteWonderful test results Tama Chan! I'm hoping the cortisone does the trick so no more coughing.
