Hooficure Wednesday!

Hotesse: During the many years that I spent in the fields around Poupounette Central, I almost never got my feet done. And I was never taught to give my feet to a farrier. On the rare occasions that my feet were trimmed, they were done in stocks, a kind of metal crush, where they tie the foot to a metal bar when they do it. Anyway, my hooves had gotten really long and I needed a trim badly, so #1 talked with her farrier and he decided to give it a go. He used a flat rope to hold up my fot, like so:
I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful it feels to have properly trimmed hooves again! My young daughter, Heloise, also got hers done. But she had already had it done before, when she was at Ms. C's earlier, so it was less of a big deal for her.
My other daughter, Violette, and the guy who calls himself The Big V also had theirs done, but they have been getting theirs done every couple of months for years, so it's no big news for them!

You know what? I just love being looked after and loved like this!

  2. I am glad you have had a nice trim, Hotese. It is sad that your feet were rarely done before you came to #1, but you must feel good now. Hopefully now you will know it is not so bad after all and will get better with each visit from the farrier.

  4. It's good to hear you are able to get your hooficure without being squeezed in that device. You are such a sweet one we knew you would behave for the farrier.

  8. Awww, that is so sweet, Hotesse. Mom needs to find someone to trim Piper the canary's claws. She is afraid to hold him for fear she will crush him. And if he gets out of her hand, rut roh:(
