Whispers from #1: One of the people commenting on yesterday's post asked questions about me (by the way, we think it's a little naughty to do so when your own profile is blocked!). Ladies never reveal everything but here are a few whispers: a pretty nomadic life, with the longest stint anywhere to date being 20 years in Japan. Why France? maternal family connections and high comfort levels. Work: pretty varied - a lot of Japanese to English and French to English translating, but I have recently been involved in peddling Percheron stallions! (you will find photos of the latest one, who is on his way to South Africa, here).

You two girls are so cute together?
ReplyDeleteAbout your question, TC, MAF did open my package, but I guess because everything was sealed and they were just biscuits or canned it was OK. Not quite sure what the rules are, but I know they try and ruin catnip toys by heat treating them. Horrors!
Ha! No surprises today. Except, what does peddling with Percheron stallions mean? That sounds naughty! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteTo peddle is to sell... I work with the French Percheron Horse Society to assist them in selling horses to overseas buyers. How naughty is that?!
ReplyDeleteAh! We're sorry for mom. She is the naughty one. ; )
ReplyDeleteThat must be very interesting to promote this special breed. And with your language skills you're THE ONE for the job!
Purrs!
What a sweet photo of the girls resting together. The girls here would not be found in the position unless they were both heavily sedated!
ReplyDeletePurrs Goldie
Khuteness in abundance today!
ReplyDeleteTank woo fur sharing the pikhs and the peeks!
Hugz&Khysses,

PeeEssWoo: Hi Tommy!
Our Mommy is drooling over the Percheron stallions. She would love to see one in real life, not just in pictures. Of course if she saw one then she would want to ride it and then she would want to bring it home so she could ride it all the time and then we thinks she would neglect us. ~Socks, Scylla, Charybdis & Fenris
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't like comments from blocked profiles either. I mean, come on!
ReplyDeleteI like your little curled up donut self for nap time.
Slobbers,
Mango
The girls look great and Clive is here beside me - curled up just like Tom!
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, Japan is another of the little man's countries that he 'says' he needs to visit!! Won't be for a while yet even though we have family there.
That horsey job sounds very intersting!
- the little man's mum
We googled the stallions, and WOW! They are so very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteTommy, I like to sleep curled up like that, too. Mum calls me her 'Suey scroll' when I do:)
Awww, you girls are so cute together! I'm glad that you get along so well!
ReplyDeleteI missed this naughty question, but selling Percheron horses overseas sounds dastardly! My goodness, how do you live with yourself, #1? ;)
ReplyDeleteDear Four-footed Ones,
ReplyDeletePlease apologize to #1 - it seems I had an appearance on my blog that removed my profile (I agree that it was a bit naughty - mea culpa - not that my life is all that interesting but there is certainly nothing to hide)... Wonderful hearing about #1 - thanks for sharing! Peace, Ali
What cute pictures! I've missed so much since my last visit here. Hurting my paws has been the worst thing to happen to me since the big snip that robbed me of my manhood. The pain isn't so bad anymore, but I just hate being forced into this sedentary lifestyle. It must be pure agony for Tom. It's just not right for the frisbee or the tennis ball to be gathering dust. It goe against all our super active spaniel principles.
ReplyDeleteThat Percheron stallion looks gorgeous! My mom loves horses, but is a little shy around some, because she grew up around Icelandic horses and isn't used to any horse that towers over her.
We never met our great Grandpa but our staff has a photo of him plowing a field in the midwest. His team were four Percherons! Has Tom ever been near the horses?
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you pair all snuggled up like that! :) Right now I'm not a well lad and am having to take lots of auntibiotics, so might not be around much as I'm worrying My Mummy...
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Ramses

Both are extra-sweet photos today!
ReplyDeleteIt would be real cool to work with those wonderful horsies. One time, my Mommie was at a fair, and there was a big tent with a sign that said "Come see the world's largest horse!" So my Mommie paid 50cents, and went in to see an average sized Clydesdale horse. She thought she was going to see an extra-giant horse in there!
Giant Schnauzers are supposed to be great with horses. As farm dogs, they do a good job with big livestock. Madison would like to try her paws at wrangling some big work horses. Sometimes she sees the police on their horses here, but very rarely and she is mesmerized.
ReplyDeleteeveryone looks so sweet today. the kitties look really happy together. it didn't take very long at all for them to become friends.
ReplyDeletethanks for the information on #1. our mom is shy too, so we understand that this is a dog/cat blog. that horse, BTW, is amazingly beautiful. those are pawsome pictures of him. thanks for sharing that!
woofs.
Awww Tama-Chan and Sei-Chan look so sweet bathing each other, and Tommy looks so comfortable curled up into a puppy ball. We always like to learn about people from their posts and try not to ask too many direct questions, but still we're pleased to learn a lot more about #1 from someone else's questions! Where we live is considered "horse country" and there are fancy race horses (one almost made it to the Kentucky Derby this year) as well as big beautiful working horses...some Percherons, some Clydesdales, some Shires, some Suffolks (Meowmy has friends who own a pair of Suffolks and farm and log with them)...
ReplyDeleteGreat pics as usual!!
ReplyDeleteHey, we left you guys something over at our blog, come and check it out!
Woofs and wags,
Benson and Gibson
That is rather rude to ask then block. That horse is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteFeather, Darla, Pappy & LizzaBella
Such lovely photos today! Thank you. I shared my blog with a friend who clicked my profile. Apparently, I never changed the gender and I was listed as "male"! Oops (and *blush*)!!! Fixed that right away as soon as she told me :) hehe
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely sister photo today! That didn't take long, did it? And Tommy, you are the most handsome boy!
ReplyDeleteThat gray horse is magnificent! What a varied and interesting you lead #1! I envy your language skills!
Dear Friends,
ReplyDeleteWe are so happy to see you happy together! Sei-Chan, looks like you have found yourself a new "Mom."
Good practice for you for the future, Tama-chan.
Tom, you're looking especially soft today!
Purrs,
Abby & Stygia
I LOVE Tom's doggie oval pic...I have a good one of Alice and I think I will post it. The kitties are exquisite!
ReplyDeleteSelling horses. We think it sounds a bit dangerous. But the pictures are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for answering the questions because we've always been in awe and so curious of your #1 living all around the world like that. That sure is a HANDSOME stallion that just went to SA!! We think that if the TM ever were to get a horse he would need a Percheron sized one because he's so tall and really likes big/powerful things.
ReplyDeleteKaze`
We just saw the link to the Percheron and WOW! What a horse! So beautiful. The photos are superb too.
ReplyDeleteDon't we all look so comfy and relaxed!!!
ReplyDeleteMom was a French major and taught it in high school many moons ago. She has lost a lot of it over the years.
Woos, the OP Pack
