Vidock: Handsome neighs, everyfriend, the big V here. I have sort of hijacked the blog. but I shall start by telling you that Miss Violette is seeing the vet today. She has been very out of sorts and aggressive, and #1 wants to check that there isn't a hormonal or ovarian issue, since that is fairly frequent with mares. As you can imagine, we are all hoping that she is not being stroppy for the heck of it, and that she will be back to her sweet self asap.
Here is a photo #1 took of her the other day, when she was coming over for treats:
As for me, I haven't gone out driving yet, but we did go on a lovely ride with Ms. C. Look how beautiful it was (and how handsome I am...):
When we got back, I was a little bit sweaty and decided I needed to freshen up.
Are you watching closely?
Wheeeeeee!
That felt SO good!
"Some freshening up!" said #1.
We'll update later on what the vet said about Violette.
Violette Update: The vet came to see Violette. He thinks it would be a good idea to do an ultrasound on her the next time she gets stroppy, to see if it might be an ovarian issue, but he is leaning more towards behavioural issues. Violette is still paying the price for the time she spent all alone in a field just when she was growing to adulthood, before she joined Poupounette Central. She did not learn at the right age how to get along well with other horses, and she sometimes can't handle issues well and takes it out on whoever is closest by, whether equine or human. Ms. C has decided to make her do some serious work so that she is in contact with her all the time and does not get bored. We'll keep you posted!
oh I bet that was super good and the perfect finish of a super day... the mama remembers the time she had to clean a white horse (87 hours?) and as she tried to ask her grampy if the job is done now, the horse took a dust bath...LOL
ReplyDeleteI guess every critter loves a roll in the dirt! Do keep us posted on Violette.

ReplyDeleteI hope all is well with Violette.
We only have one mare here but she is always grumpy at this time of the year and the geldings know to steer well clear of her.
We love to roll on the ground too Vidock but we usually do in on the grass. You sure look like you are enjoying your roll in the dirt.
ReplyDeleteVidock, that second picture is so beautiful and like from a scene in a movie! And I love seeing you rolling on the ground :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope Violette will be back to her sweet self soon xo
A mud bath is supposed to be good for you, Vidock! Here's hoping that Violette's new regime will help her socialize with others.
ReplyDeleteYeah, keep her bizzy to not get snitty. Vidock, what a way to freshen up. MOL.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Vidock you're rockin' that roll! We hope all gets sorted out with Violette, we're sending good thoughts her way.
ReplyDeleteWe hope Violette will be just fine. Maybe some time with Ms. C will do the trick.
ReplyDeleteVidock, that looks like so much fun. We love to roll in the grass. And the mud too, but then we get in trouble:)
