Thankful but Also Sad

Sen-Chan. We have been sitting on a couple of great awards for several days, so this is our day for saying a big THANK YOU...

to our friend, Petey, for this award:

Petey tells us that this is for sharing where you live with your fellow bloggers, so we would like to pass it on to Hero, who has opened a window for us onto the Azores!

We would also like to thank our friend Grrreta for this beautiful award:

We would like to pass this one on to:

Tom: Friendship is a wonderful thing, and we really enjoy reading all about our friends' adventures on the blogs. But sometimes, the reading is sad, so, so sad.  Today, when went over to our friend Booker's blog, we discovered that he had an awful episode of uncontrollable rage yesterday, putting in danger his family members, and so he will have to be helped to the Bridge today. Booker was a rescue dog who had been through a lot before coming to the family who adores him, and despite all the  love, training and patience shown to him,  he could never quite make it out of the hell he had been in.

This is a good time for those of us who have never known anything but love and gentleness, ever since we were tiny, to spare a thought for those who have been abused beyond redemption. May they all find themselves in a gentler place.

Goodbye Booker.

  2. Congrats on your awards and thank you for passing one to me!

My mom and I read Booker's story and our hearts are breaking. You can tell that his family truly loved and cared for him and tried to do everything they could. It's so sad that it had to end like this.

Thank you very much for "awarding" me. I am so honored! Please imagine me strutting around with my tail raised proud. Truth is, I don't know what to do now - it's my first awardie...

  15. We hadn't been by Booker's for a while and we are shocked. We so hoped he was enjoying his well-earned retirement and weren't aware he was having issues. This is so sad.
