Ollie: Woofs, everyone! It's me, Ollie, again! I had my one-month post-op appointment with Dr. C yesterday. The instructions from the referral hospital said that I should have an x-ray if Dr. C thought I needed one. She watched me walk, palpated me, stretched my legs and gave me the once over, and she said I did not! And that I was doing really well! And she told #1 that there was no charge as this was the second follow-up visit. Isn't she totally awesome?
We don't have much in the way of pics to illustrate the visit. Here is one that #1 took when we were waiting to go in:
I have a an appointment booked with the surgeon who did the operation, on February 21st. That is when he will sign me off to resume normal activity. Until then, my walking times need to be extended a little each day! Dr. C suggested we try a Halti collar to stop me pulling so much. We happened to have one at home and tried it yesterday afternoon. It seems to work! As for #1, she needs to return to Dr. C next week as Da Benny needs his boosters!
we are so glad for the good news...and we hope the good news continue when you see your surgeon. we use a halti too, it's really a good thing. you also can try the harness by animalin, it is better than the halti, but sadly also more expensive...
ReplyDeleteWe had a halti for MJF, he hated it because yes, it did stop the pulling!
ReplyDeleteGood woofs for your good news!
Yay for a good check up.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the Halti collar will prevent you from hurting yourself until you are fully healed.
Purrs, Julie
Wonderful Wednesday news!
ReplyDeletePurrs from Yuki-Chan and Louis xx
you have a wonderful vet and this is fantastic good news that you are better. in August i was told Beau would never be able to walk for excericse again, within 8 days of that diagnosis I started walking him. first 3 days 4 house from our house, next 3 days 6 houses and for a few weeks I added houses until now he is walking his old walk again. we don't go as fast but he still gets his morning walk... a little at a time works miracles or dogs and humans
ReplyDeleteSuch good news, and the 'no charge' part was icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad to hear Dr. C is pleased with your progress, Ollie. It's not fun sticking to the no running rule but it will pay off in the end.
ReplyDeleteGood news indeed!! Play bows,
ReplyDeleteNuk
That's terrific Ollie, just keep following your Vet instructions and you'll be in great shape!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a good vet visit and everything is going well.
ReplyDeleteGood news Ollie ! Following all your rehab work after knee surgery is not easy !
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are healing so well, Ollie!
ReplyDeleteIt is all sounding like you are on the path to full recovery, Ollie. Timber wears a Gentle Leader and it works well for him. Misty walks very nicely, and Lightning always wants to head home when he goes for a walk, so not too much worry about pulling:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Hee! Hee! Cinnamon had a Halti collar. It worked really well. We are glad you are doing so well and can't wait for you to get a clean bill of health from the surgeon!
ReplyDeleteLulu: "Excellent news on your recovery, Ollie! I'll keep up the furry tail wags for it to continue!"
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "And we'll keep up the purrs!"
