Vidock and Violette Vendredi

Vidock: Handsome Neighs, EveryFriend! It has been so hot here! We are lucky that we have some nice trees we can shelter under but we are neighing that it will finally start to cool down today.

Our farrier came to do our hooficures on Wednesday. He was supposed to come a couple of weeks ago but we had to change the date. Fortunately for him and for us, Ms. C and #1 made a space for us in a large hangar so we were in the shade, away from the flies, so it was OK.

I went first:

I became quite sleepy and rested my head on the farrier's back. He didn't think it was a great idea...

Here, I am getting my final "varnish". We use a product called Fiske's Hoof and Hide Balm that comes all the way from Canada!

Violette: Pretty neighs, everyone! I too am crossing hoofs that it is going to cool down. I feel bad for #1 as her A/C is not working again in the car.. We are hoping the garage can fix it quickly.

Wishing you a cool Friday!

  3. We have our paws crossed that the heat breaks for you all soon. It looks like you both were very good for the farrier.

  4. While chatting with co-workers yesterday, I learned that a lot of homes and buildings in Europe don't have a/c, nor do they have windows that open well! Here, we put a fan in the window...blowing outward...so it draws in a breeze, plus we have window a/c units. I pray that the heat wave goes away for you all!

    1. True for the lack of a/c but I am puzzled about the comment on windows not opening well. Ours all open!

  7. I am glad you were able to get your new shoes done in the shade. I think the smoke would have kept the flies away too. I hope it cools down for you. It was a little cooler today but should drop further next week.
