Wednesday Whinnies - The Percheron Championship Edition

#1 here. Having spent all of last weekend at The French National Percheron Championships, I thought I would share a few photos with all of you. Most competitions worldwide ended up being cancelled because of COVID, so it was amazing that this one actually happened.

First the stallions, who are presented in the courtyard of the stunning chateau at Haras du Pin:. The presenters must really be able to run!

Then the mares:

As you can see, most people were pretty good about wearing masks, including me!

Then, the driving, both pairs and singles:

I hope you enjoyed this little view into a more normal world!

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: With #1 being away for several days, there were not many opportunities for her to take photos of me. Thankfully, Mr. G came to the rescue and took some great portraits for me to share with you!

Thank you, Mr.G!

Manly Monday

Genji: #1 got back last night, exhausted from being on her feet for three days, but pleased with the Championships. We will share some photos of that later this week. In the meantime, Mr. G took some good photos of us, starting with these two close-ups of me!

And this nice pic of Ollie:

And #1 took this nice portrait of The Big V:

We wish you all a good week! Stay safe, stay healthy!

Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: With #1 away, we have been snuggling with Mr. G, but we also managed to get in quite a bit of snuggling before she went on!

Evening snuggles with me and #1:

Post Zoom-Grooming selfie:

It's a little out of focus, but here are Genji and Ollie snuggling with #1:

#1 giving The Big V a kiss:

And The Big V getting a kiss from Aral!

A Violette snuggle:

And Hotesse snuggle:

Heloise Snuggles:

Heloise's snuggle style is more like The Big V's, don't you think?

Sei-Chan's Souvenir Saturday

Rainbow Sei: Hello Everyone! It's been a while, hasn't it? It's lovely to be back with another post today. #1 was kind enough to prepare it for us before she left.

Today, I thought I would share some photos of us kitties in the cat run, starting with one of me:

Yuu-Chan was a real fan of the run too! Here he is, when still only a kitten, in one of the sky hammocks in the run:

And here is Beebs trying out some of the facilities in the run:

Of course, when Sen-Chan was around, there was no cat run, but he did go out and enjoy nature, and he was quite a climber!

#1's first Aby, Ikkyu, also did not go out, although he did occasionally manage to sneak out:

And here is Trav enjoying the great outdoors:

Last but not least is our Tommy who loved to roam all over the place!

Frootbat Friday

Genji: With #1 away for three days, we asked her to prepare our posts ahead of time, and thought it would be nice to do another Frootbat Friday, especially as she took some great Frootbat pics of me!

Here is a single bat offering from Queen Tama:

She is also pretty good at FlatBats!

This is not a great photo, but Ollie is displaying some pretty cool Flying Ears  here:

Thankful Thursday With Ollie

Ollie: After a long dry spell, we are getting a little rain, so I am not spending as much time outside. But I had some fun romps in the fields with #1 earlier in the week. You can see just how dry it has been.

So, #1 is off tomorrow morning, for her three days at the French Percheron Championships. She is grateful that the event is happening at all, given that so many things have been canceled all over the world. But she says she will have to wear a mask the whole time, and social distance. She is also taking plenty of hand sanitiser with her! As for us, we are awaiting the arrival of Mr. G!

Hooficure Wednesday!

Hotesse: During the many years that I spent in the fields around Poupounette Central, I almost never got my feet done. And I was never taught to give my feet to a farrier. On the rare occasions that my feet were trimmed, they were done in stocks, a kind of metal crush, where they tie the foot to a metal bar when they do it. Anyway, my hooves had gotten really long and I needed a trim badly, so #1 talked with her farrier and he decided to give it a go. He used a flat rope to hold up my fot, like so:
I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful it feels to have properly trimmed hooves again! My young daughter, Heloise, also got hers done. But she had already had it done before, when she was at Ms. C's earlier, so it was less of a big deal for her.
My other daughter, Violette, and the guy who calls himself The Big V also had theirs done, but they have been getting theirs done every couple of months for years, so it's no big news for them!

You know what? I just love being looked after and loved like this!
