Wordy Wednesday

#1 here. The other day, we received a very nice award from our friends Ben, Pip and Co. at The Dogs of Greenhill Farm. Thank you!

It seems that this is a combo award and meme because it comes with a request to write seven things about myself and, if I understand correctly, they should be about me rather than the Gang (boring, boring...). Anyway, here goes:

1) Tommy is my very first dog. I had wanted one ever since I was little, but parents and then life in general made it impossible until now.
2) The longest I have lived in any one country to date is 20 years, and that was in Japan.
3) My first cat, Ikkyu, lived with me on three continents (Asia, North America and Europe).
4) I am trilingual (English, French and Japanese)
5) I always lived in big cities until I moved to rural France almost nine years ago.
6) I tend to get annoyed when people claim to be exclusively cat people or dog people. How is it possible to love one and not the other?
7) It really makes me laugh when people think I may be lonely and bored living in the country. I have never been busier in my life!

There you have it. The original request is that this should be passed on to 15 other bloggers. How on earth does one choose 15? If you haven't done this yet, consider yourselves tagged!

Can't possibly not include any photos in today's post, so here is one of me and Tommy, taken by a friend last October:

And here is a rose from our garden:

And a couple of our local ladybirds/ladybugs:

There seem to be more of them about this year than ever before, and also lots more bees, which is great.

We shall return to regular programming tomorrow. By the way, Tommy is still on limited exercise. He can now run about the field a bit, but still no rough play. He is no longer limping but will remain on Rimadyl for another 10 days and we want to be absolutely sure he's better.

  1. Conscat for your awards !!!!

Your answers are so amazing !!! and interesting

You can speak 3 languages and your life had a great journey !

and MOL.. You must get annoy by my mom so much : ) she always claim she is a crazy cat lady. Actually, her first pet is a dog when she was 7, the dog pass away 4 years later She didn't have pet for long till 12 year ago, Had 9 Gold fish all dead after she leave the country. She met lots of dogs before me. and never think she is going to love cat. But since she found me, she convert to be cat person but it doesn't mean she hate dogs but just crazy too much about cats. Sound silly but that's what she is : )

I think Live in the country is fabulous, but I can tell so much thing to do. My dad's uncle live in the country in New Zealand too. And there are very nice place.

    Thanks for sharing your secret.
    xoxo

  2. #1 great answers to your meme - we love finding out things about our friends. Mum has kept cats ever since she left her childhood home where she couldn't have them as the furs gave her mum asthma! We are pleased that Tom's leg is getting better.

  4. My Mom is envious of your life in rural France, #1. Clearly there is no way it could be boring! And she agrees that it doesn't make sense for people to be "only" cat or dog people. Though she does understand some people having a preference for one over the other, because they can be quite different.

  7. Congrats on your award and very nice job on the sharing. We think it is wonderful that you can mix dogs and cats in harmony. It would be a tough one here with our prey instinct, but we do love all our virtual kitty furiends.

Best to take it slow and easy with Tommy, and so good to know he is doing well.

Love that pic of you and T.

  8. I always enjoy learning about our friends; your life sounds happy and full :-)

I have been an animal lover all my life but I have only ever had cats, I understand and connect with them. Rio is my first dog, she is so different I could write a book! Everyday I learn something new about her and love her all the more :-)

  11. We suspected that about English, French and Japanese--as you blog in English (far too well for it to be google translated), you live in France and you visit Japan regularly! :). Now, do the cats answer in all those languages?

  13. Actually not boring at all! What would be boring would be MY human's answers, as she speaks something like one and a half languages and has lived in the same city all her life.
