This blog was started in June 2008 by a young sorrel Abyssinian cat called Sen-Chan and a slightly younger English Springer Spaniel called Tommy. The years that followed were full of hellos and goodbyes. Some, like Sen-Chan and Yuu-Chan, were lost very young. Other Abys like Sei-Chan, Bibi, and Genji stayed with us for quite a few years. But they too have gone now, as has Tommy. In the interim, several Percheron horses joined the family, starting with Vidock in 2010, Violette in 2012, and then Hotesse and Heloise in 2020. They contribute to the blog regularly. But the mainstays are Ollie, also an English Springer Spaniel, Tama, an Abyssinian queen who has been with us since late 2008, and Benkei (Benny), a little ruffian who joined us in 2021, followed by Momo in 2022, and another Aby boy, Ryū, in 2023.. We live in rural France, in a region called the Perche, which is famous for its heavy horses.
I like it - ears back in respect; tail fluffed in caution. This is how kitties should respond to their elders. Bibi-Chan was very brave and polite. No sign of paw swiping the little one into shape....
So I read your blog all the time but never comment, but seriously, have to this time. The one of Gen-Chan with his tail all poofed out and eyes like saucers (presumably from seeing Tommy) is hysterical. Love it.
Congratulations on the new addition to your family. He is adorable.
Oh my! Brotherly love! The Beebs looks so big next to the little guy. He has grown into a lovely young man cat. As for the little boy blue...what a cutie, trying to look so tough you just want to squeeze him. And the ears... oh the ears. The last pic is just too much cuteness to take.
Genji you are so adorable! Daddyman LOVES Abysinians and thinks you are the bomb! It looks as though the "first meetings" are going nicely :) the critters in The Cottage
Baby boy meets Bibi boy:) Looks like baby boy knew his place. Now Tommy, you might have to work on this one a bit - but we can just see the snuggles coming along soon.
Gen-Chan! You are strong and courageous as well as very handsome! Just like your namesake! You'll be out with your new family very soon. Beebs, you are the perfect loving brother. Let the little one feel the love and warmth so characteristic of the Poupounette gang! He'll soon want to be spending lots of time with you. He's going to be in awe of his big brother! Tommy, we highly suspect little Genji will love his doggie brother the most! Don't know why but we just have the feeling. What an excellent day for all. Our love to you.
WOAH! No one can bully you eh Gen-chan. Keep it up.
