Wednesday Wonders!

#1 here. I am hijacking the blog today which I hope our dear readers won't mind. Those of you with Facebook may have already see these photos, in which case, apologies to them. I spent Monday with a wonderful bunch of people and critters and wanted to share some photos.

The definite highlight of the day was the Harris Hawk, Barbara:

Although spending time with the lovely Jade, a Grand Noir du Berry donkey, came a close second:

Mr. G was also there and he had an encounter with a llama called Kinai:

As well as with a beautiful barn owl!

We hope that you will enjoy this little interlude and will return to regular programming tomorrow.

  2. I want to kiss that donkey. this would be something I would love to do. I have petted a llama, a few times, there is a Russian family that has a traveling petting zoo, they bring goats, sheep, chickens, donkey, llama and a few smaller things. they used to come to the nursing home and let the residents pet. my volunteer job was to hand the critters off to their arms and move the little goats from person to person..

  3. #1, this is indeed a splendid post. I have only seen wildlife refuge centers treating injured raptors. Never one that was a hunter.

  4. Java Bean: "Ayyy, that is quite a variety of critters! The hawk is rather imposing, and the owl's face reminds me of the cats."
Chaplin: "What??? We haven't got beaks."
Java Bean: "You have got big eyes, though."
