Feline Friday

Tama: Oh #1, why did you let him back in the house?

Benny: Who? Me???????

#1 here. Young Benny starts revving up his motors and going totally crazy as the sun sets. Pandemonium is a mild word for what follows. Some evenings, I end up just putting him in his room because I am so tired and exhausted from trying to deal with him. Any advice, anyone?

  2. Oh, oh...the wild zoomies!!
Sorry, no real advice...but maybe outside time on a leash when you go for a stroll? He's very young and may adapt well to this type of exercise.

  3. The exuberance of youth and excess energy! I remember when Eric and Flynn were that age. There was no such thing as obstructions to them. If we were watching TV they would run across legs, laps and even our heads as if we were not there. Don't worry, he will calm down, but getting him used to a harness so he can join you on you walks with Ollie may be a solution.

  4. Restraints? Mild sedatives? Maybe force him to sit through a pile of photo albums or old home movies?

  5. Part kitten energy(they have only one speed...FAST) and part being cooped up for a while. Maybe some time in the cat run? It will not last forever.
Maybe he would like to go for a walk ;)

  6. Sorry we can't offer any advice for rambunctious kitties but we have to say that Cleo's comment gave us a chuckle. BOL!

  8. Kittens run n' romp with such enthusiasm and they really don't have an off switch yet.

  9. Benny IS a kitten, and it has been years since you've had one around the house! Maybe playing vigorously until he's panting will wear him out a little bit more. My human used to do that with Binga when she was an uncontrollable kitten. I bet she would have been even worse otherwise!
