Violette: I told #1 that I should host this post because I was the star last Saturday. The Big V was just playing a supporting role... You see, I got to take #1 out for a ride!!! Due to a number of reasons, #1 had not actually gotten on a horse in over three years, and Ms. C told her it was high time she did. And last Saturday was the day! Ms. C came with us and rode the Big V. It was also an opportunity to try out the new (to us) bridle and saddle she had bought from a friend.
Isn't the new bridle spiffy?
#1 said she had forgotten how far down the ground was... For those of you who are familiar with horses, I am 17 hands and The Big V is 17.2 hands.
And off we went. It was shortly after this that the Big V decided that a puddle of water was a bottomless hole and refused to go through it. In the end, clever Ms. C made him first go through it backward. What an idiot!
I of course went through it without a problem.
It was a cloudy day and not very warm, but it was so nice to be out together!
Does #1 look happy?!
That's my new saddle by the way.
The Big V kept telling me to hurry up. That boy has ants in his pants!
The last bit was through open country :
And we got this hilarious photo of the Big V being ridden by the headless horsewoman! Neeeeeiiiiigh!
Of course, after we got back, we both got fabulous treat buckets!
I hope we go out for another ride very soon!
oooh we love it!!! what a pleasure to be on a back of a horse...
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see you out and about with #1 riding you Violette :)
ReplyDeleteYou and #1 look so good together.

I am glad that Ms.C persuaded #1 to get back in the saddle. It looks like you all had a lovely time.
ReplyDeleteGood on you for going right through the water and showing Vidock he was a scaredy cat!
That looks like you all were having a great time. That Christine is clever to get the Big V to go through the puddle backwards. BOL! Your new bridle looks fabulous on you.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to see you out n' about with #1!!!
ReplyDeleteI saw #1 riding you on FB, Violette! I would make sure to wear a riding hat/helmet, 'cause I'm sure I'd get tossed no matter what! I've only ridden a horse when I was a little girl.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! My human hasn't been on a horse since she was 14 years old, which is pretty sad.
ReplyDeleteLooks like an absolutely wonderful time. We love seeing you all out and about. Thanks for sharing the lovely photos. Have a fantastic rest of your day.
