The Fates on Friday

#1 here again. As promised, here is an update on Da Beebs' vet visit and blood test this morning. I am sad to say that the news is not good. We kept on hoping but the fates decided otherwise. Basically, his liver is completely shot and, in its auto-destruction, it has dragged his kidneys down with him. The kidneys are holding their own due to some great meds, but Dr. C said the only thing that could save him now is a liver transplant and that doesn't happen.

Despite all of this, Beebs is still perky and full of life and Dr. C and  I decided that as long as that remains the case (he is not in any pain), then he would stay with us, loved, cared for,  and treasured as he always has been. When the time comes that he does not eat at all for more than 1-2 days, then we know it will be time. He is down to 3.6 kilos from 4kg 2 weeks ago when he left hospital, so we don't think we have a w hole lot of time. He will be on prednisone, plus Semintra for his kidneys.

I cannot thank all of you enough for your unfailing support over the past 3 months. Could you please purr for him so that the transition, when it comes, is as quick and painless as possible?

Here he is at Dr.C's office exploring, as usual!
