Wednesday Whinnies!

Ahem...... Not too sure what I am supposed to say... I had never heard of this blogging thing until now. Hey, Mr. Floppy Ears, do you think you could give me a few hints?

Tom: OK, Big Guy. You start by telling them your name and a little bit about yourself, and maybe #1 can take it up from there?

OK! Hello Everyone! My name is VIDOCK D'ALBE and I have just joined the Poupounette Gang! I am a pure-bred Percheron colt and I am just 17 months old! I live in a beautiful field, about 10 minutes from Poupounette Central, with my two half brothers Viking and Vic. We have the best time together!

It's me on the right!

I still have a lot of growing to do (I will be between 16 and 17 hands when I am fully grown) and will need to go to school, so I am staying here with my breeders for at least another year. #1 and Mr. Floppy Ears have promised to come and visit me often. I am a true Poupounette because I LOVE cuddles!

I am sad that I probably will not get to meet my kitty brothers and sisters, but Mr. Floppy Ears comes with #1 when she visits and I hope he and I will be really good friends!

Oh, and I thought you might like to meet my parents? First, here is my Mummy. Her name is Jessy and you can see her in this photo with my little sister, Altesse, who was born this year:

And here is my Daddy. His name is Orgueil de Prainville. His own Daddy came from America and was called Silver Shadows Sheik, so I am one quarter American!

My Daddy is a working stallion, so he is both driven and does very manly things like logging!

#1 says I can do occasional Wednesday post to tell you about my life, so I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

#1 here. Owning a horse has been a dream of mine ever since I was a little girl. It took some time but here I am at last! The sadness following Yuu-Chan's death was so overwhelming that I decided that perhaps the time had come. I am lucky in that the breeders are really wonderful, and little Vidock can stay with them and receive the best care and training possible, until he is ready to be ridden.

  6. Hi Vidock!! our the mom just adores percherons! she goes to see driving competitions and look at the pretty percherons!

  7. Oh, what a beautiful horsie you are, and so young, too! Alpha Mom will plotz when she sees this. Her horse, Sarge, is a draft cross and she loves him to pieces, but a Percheron would make her heart flutter just a bit. I know. We discuss these things. A photo with a bunch of Percherons might be too much for her. I know you'll be very happy in the Poupounette Gang.

  16. Hi Vidock! It is wonderful to meet you! You have joined a great family and we know you will just be so happy! It is too bad you can't meet the kitties, but hey, we kitties just don't usually get the freedome the doggies do - but we know they will get to hear stories about you, and you about them, so you will get to know each other that way!

  17. Vidock, how wonderful to meet you! We love to learn about other animals and see how they own their People. There is so much to learn!
Your new Person, #1 is a great lady and you will have no trouble with her, we think.

How old will you be when you are finally "all grown up"?

  23. Wow #1 has her own horsie! Mum says she was at an auction years ago with Grampie and his brother. She could have gotten a nice horsie like that for not too many green papers. But the upkeep isn't cheap.

Your gonna ride him? I figured these guys are normally used as work horsies like his Daddy.

  24. How exciting! And how handsome and lovely you are, Vidock! Edgar and I look forward to learning many things about you. Congratulations to #1!

  25. Nice to meet you, Vidock! You're very handsome. It is great that you are part of the gang at Poupounette. We've never met a real horsie but Mummy used to feed her friend's horse in the paddock when she was little. She says she likes horses because you have gentle eyes! Your Mummy and Daddy, and your siblings are beautiful too!

Vidock, you are very handsome and we are very happy #1 fulfilled her dream. Our staff's grandpa was a farmer and she has a photo of him working a field with a team of four Percherons.

  30. What a handsome fellow you are, Vidock! I'm sorry you'll be parted from the rest of the Poupounette gang for so long. They really are capital! And I know that Tommy will enjoy your visits together. You have something in common-he LOVES going out into the fields to run and play, just as you do, Vidock. Welcome!
