Ollie: I have an ouchie. It's on my front right paw. #1 noticed it a couple of days ago and emailed a photo to Dr. C. She also noticed I was licking it so she put a sock on it. Dr. C called her back and told her that it looked like an infectious granuloma. She said I should put cortisone cream on it 2-3 times a day, and I should not be allowed to lick it, at all. She said the choice was between a sock and a cone of shame. Given that we are getting temps in the mid 30sC (90sF) at the moment, #1 figured that a sock would be the better option. She looked through her supplies and found an excellent one made of neoprene with a good velcro fastening, and on it went.
So this is what the ouchie looks like:
Here I am sporting my chic neoprene sock:
And I still managed to make a new friend. This guy was visiting Fernant. He is a whippet called Boy.
Stay cool and stay safe, everyone!
Ouch, that looks painful! I don't blame you for licking it, even though I know you shouldn't!
ReplyDeleteOllie, that looks nasty.
ReplyDeleteI hope the sock will allow it to heal quickly!

That sock looks perfect for the job. I hope your ouchie soon heals.
ReplyDeleteOllie, I see a visit to the vet in your future; hope it's a non-issue.
ReplyDeleteBoy, we sure hope that heals quickly for you Ollie!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your ouchie paw. We are keeping our paws crossed that the treatment will work quickly. Good thing #1 had a sock so you didn't have to wear a cone.

ReplyDeleteOllie, we are sorry you have an ouchie, but we hope it heals fast. Mom never had much luck keeping socks on us - hope it works for you.

ReplyDeleteOh Ollie, I’m so sorry to hear about your ouchie and that you have to wear a sock. But it must be much less uncomfortable than the cone. I hope your paw will heal quickly!
ReplyDeleteThat looks very unpleasant. Hope the sock and the medicine together work their magic to get that healed up.
