Wednesday Whinnies - CAMPAIGN UPDATE!

Violette: Pretty neighs, everyone! Violette here! I know that some of you have been very eager to get news of the campaign to save my Mama and Sis from their uncaring breeders, and also contributed to the crowdfunding campaign that #1 has been running. Thank you again for all your kindness.

Now, I am so thrilled to announce that, yesterday, after lengthy and difficult negotiations (remember the "cider-making" delaying tactics?), they have agreed to see the two mares. Initially, they demanded a price that was way above their market value, and what #1 had raised, playing on her attachment to the mares. Ms. C stepped up and called them, telling them just how unreasonable they were being, and they have finally relented. The final price was, however, higher than budgeted.

They will be staying where they are, which is very close to Poupounette Central, until mid to late February, at which time they will be transferred  to Ms. C's and join us. This is good for Ms. C because space and feed are both at a premium this time of year. Needless to say, #1 will be keeping an eye on them daily and bringing them apples and carrots.

Here are some pics of them taken yesterday. when #1 went to tell them the news:

And here is a bonus shot of Heloise:

#1 says she loves the look in her eyes.

Now, as mentioned above the price was higher than expected, and the campaign is still live, so if you were planning to contribute and have not yet done so, any further contributions would be much appreciated to help pay for the care they will need once they are moved (starting with vaccinations, farrier and dentist). The link is here

Thanks everyone, from your friend, Violette:

  3. I am so glad an agreement has been reached and the mares will be safe and loved. It is a pity though that the owners were difficult with the negotiations.

  6. That really is great news but I'd get them away from them soon, I wouldn't trust those people.

  8. I agree with Brian's comment; #1 had better keep an eagle eye on those ladies.
