Farewell on Friday

Tom: I Cannot believe that we are writing our second goodbye post in less than a week. Life just seems so unfair at times… We heard yesterday that Leo, a good buddy of ours in Prince Edward Island, had crossed the Bridge.

Leo and his older brother Murphy own Ms. K, a good friend of #1's. In fact, Ms. K's previous woofie, Oscar, was #1's introduction to Springer Spaniels. Whereas Murphy is black and white, Leo was the same colour as me, and just as obsessed with balls as I am. Leo came to live with Ms. K in the autumn of 2009. Sadly, his health was delicate right from the start, but that never stopped him from enjoying life to the fullest. He was cute, loving, goofy and wanted to play every minute of the day if he could. He became very, very ill, several times over the past few years, but Ms. K's love and care managed to drag him back from the edge, for more happy ball-chasing. Sadly, Leo came to the end of his journey the day before yesterday.

We would like to honour Leo by sharing these pictures, taken by #1 over the years:

The last picture shows Leo and his bro, Murphy, sprawled on #1's bed when she looked after them for several days last summer when Ms. K had to go on a trip.

Run Free, sweet Leo, in those fields where there are endless balls to chase, and you can eat everything you want without ever getting sick.
