Tama's Ticked-Off Tuesday

Tama-Chan: D
ear Friends, we are TICKED-OFF! #1 returned as promised from Paris last night and guess what had happened to her? She had her wallet stolen on the metro (subway)! There are apparently organised gangs of thieves, mostly from Easterm Europe, who take advantage of the freedom of movement within the European community to come over and relieve honest people of their hard-earned cash. Believe me, if we had found those responsible, we would have shredded them! But we are here in our lovely countryside, not roaming the streets of the capital, so all we can do is offer comfort.

  1. Oh ew! That is just horrible. Poor #1. It makes one feel violated to have that happen. I hope that she is able to cancel her cards. Who knows, maybe with enough leads the coppers will find those rogues.

  2. What a terrible thing to have happen to #1. We hope she wasn't injured at all. And hopefully mostly cards and not too much cash. But what a hassle reporting all those losses and replacing items. Terrible, terrible.

  7. We hope you greeted her with kitty kisses and tail wags. How awful for #1 we hope she didn't have too much cash and she managed to cancel her cards and the codes weren't written down. Unfortunately there are these thieves everywhere now and mum says she hates to be in crowded places now.
On the plus side is the fact that she was unharmed and could return safely to you all.

  9. This is supremely annoying, what an awful thing to happen. Of course those thieves get the most out of their tours just before Christmas, when everyone is out getting presents for their loved ones. Mom says the worst part is applying for the new bank cards, the identity card and other stuff that is usually in the wallet too. Oh my, we would so put the bitey on those thieves! Please pass on our purrs to #1!

  15. Oh how awful! How angry she must be! We've heard a lot about gangs of eastern Europeans using skills they learned as soldiers to advance their lives of crime. Very sad.
We so thankful that #1 was not assaulted/injured. But what a task to have to take care of before Christms; replacing all of the stolen card, etc.
We know you will give her extra snuggles and kisses and help her get back into the Christmas spirit. Our love to all.

  25. I am SO SO sorry. I have been many places in Europe and so far...so good. My son had something stolen but thank goodness it wasn't too important. He hadn't much in the little holder..so they were no doubt disappointed.

I am sorry..what a terrible thing to happen.

Hugs and I hope something is recovered if not all of its contents.

  27. So feel for her. My peeps had that happen last year. It's on some blog post or other I think back in August. They stole ID, passports, driving licence, health cards, money - well - so much stuff. And they were in Spain and needed to cross the frontera to Gibraltar :( it takes some getting over, but I hope you are all helping her to feel better.
