On Friday of last week, I was out enjoying the sunshine in my run when that total pest, Manoushka, sauntered over. Can you believe that he came right up to MY run?!
Have you ever seen anything so in-your-face and so RUDE? I turned to #1 for support, but she was far too busy with that camera of hers...
So I screamed and hissed and then screamed some more, and he just sat there! Furious barely describes how I felt. I had to take action! And it just so happened that Yuu-Chan was there, so I went for him instead... Now Yuu-Chan is the sweetest, soppiest guy around but this time, he got really mad and fought back. #1 had to grab hold of him and just hug him until he calmed down (he never raised a paw at her). As for me, I got several hours of time out in the back room, so I could calm down, she said. Actually, she came and joined me and played with me and cuddled me. She said she wanted me to think of fun things and not be angry anymore.
It seemed to work and I purred and purred for her (you know I'm the girl who never purrs, don't you?). When she eventually opened the door, the first one inside was Yuu-Chan and we sat quietly for a while together. Ever since, we have been a little cool towards each other, although there haven't been any more actual fights. I feel bad about what I did to him, but I really was pushed to the limit. I mean, someone has to protect our garden and run. The others just don't seem to care! So I have to spend more time on guard duty...
... when what I really would like to do is laze in the sun in one of my diva poses.
Sigh.......
PS: And if you were wondering where Sei-Chan and Bibi-Chan were during this whole episode, they headed for the hills at the first sign of trouble.
Wow!! What an event!! He just stood there, unfazed by your wrath?? I would have been headed for the hills!

Well, I see where you're coming from, but family harmony is most important. You do need to work on those keeping those instincts focused on the invader. I know it's hard for some cats. I don't like to stereotype, but some of you can be pretty excitable. So calm down, grab something to chew on and just work on chilling out. It'll be better for your blood pressure, too.
ReplyDeletewags, Lola
An invader! Sometimes when you get all riled up you just lash out at the nearest thing. Maybe Yuu-Chan needs a sign that says "remember who I am!"
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,
Mango
Given the circumstances, it's understandable that Yuu-Chan felt a bit of your wrath. Maybe just tell him that you still love him next time you see him.
ReplyDeleteTama-Chan, when Whitey sees intruders he has also been known to take his wrath out on the nearest kitty... which for some strange reason is usually Grayson. All's well that ends well. At least nobuddy was hurted!
ReplyDeleteThat 2nd photo of you looking back at #1 is priceless! Your expression tells it all!
Perhaps it was frustration when Manoushka didn't go away when you screamed and hissed at him that made you beat up Yuu-Chan.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to be kind to him and spoil him with treats.
What a rude introoder! Hopefully he'll keep his distance...I'm sure he just can't get over how beautiful you are.
ReplyDeleteWow! What an intense story! The 2nd picture of the two of them - their expressions and just the contrast between the two types of cats is awesome to see.

Manoushka's a big brute, isn't he? No wonder you freaked out and attacked the nearest thing at hand! Yuu-Chan will forgive you eventually, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteIntruders drive me mad too!
ReplyDeleteHopefully Yuu-Chan will soon forget all about it!
take care

Ohhhh, those bad neighbor cats have done that to the peace around here before. Hair flyin'!
ReplyDeletePoor Tama! We completely understand. You didn't mean to take out your anger on Yuu-Chan. That neighbor cat needs to stay in his own yard.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a rude bully! Mum had a chuckle at the second picture though. That expression!
ReplyDeleteWell, we can understand you being upset about the intruder - but please be sweeter to Yuu-Chan - it wasn't his fault. This post makes us think of Earl Grey and the misbehavior he has been having with a rude kitty invading his property too.
ReplyDeleteWe love how you looked to #1 for some help.

ReplyDeleteOh Tommy!
ReplyDeleteDid woo have to observe all of this too?

How about a group HUG?
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
PeeEssWoo: Khats are silly! I'm so glad khanines aren't like THAT ;-)
The look on your face in that second photo is priceless! I think you had maybe a bit of misdirected anxiety. That happens sometimes. I'm sure Yuu-Chan understands.
ReplyDeleteHoly Cats! We would have been upset, too. First an intruder, then a cat fight. No Fun. We're sure things will get back to normal soon.

Kept your cat run safe Tama-Chan!
ReplyDeleteAnd tell Manoushka who he need an invitation...

Well, we do understand why you would have gotten so upset at an intruder near the run! And it is too bad that Yuu-Chan got the brunt of the anger - we know you just got a little crazy at that point. It has happened at our house one or two times when another cat would come by the window. We are sure that you two will be back to normal soon!
ReplyDeleteBonsoir, mes amies!
ReplyDeleteThank you for dropping by my blog. I have just been reading your adventures and you are very lucky cats - I want a catio!!! I am not so sure about sharing my family with a dog though. And may I be so impolite as to ask how you keep warm with such short furs? Here I need my long golden fur as it is very cold in winter and I worry that you might be chilly. I hope you have a sauna to help.

Tama-chan, your expression in the second photo is perfect. I can totally read your thoughts there. Poor Yuu-chan. But, I'm glad that family harmony is slowly getting restored.
ReplyDeletehugs and skritches,
Marlene
I must of been sleeping -- 'cause if I would of heard you hollering I would of come to help you! Sorry!
ReplyDeleteBlimey that was quite an ordeal.. I would have reacted at an introoder too.. To come so close was very brave..Glad you didnt get in too much trouble though.. HUgs GJ xx
ReplyDeleteOh, my poor darling! You must have been traumatised! I wish I could have been there to protect you!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a horrible day. :(
ReplyDeleteNo more fighting, must be nice okay?
BOL...you better scream and hiss louder
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Intruder visitor kittie was the one you should have whapped good. Lucky he was safe because of the fence.
ReplyDeleteOh you poor, poor thing Tama-Chan!! You do look very worried there and I don't blame you for 'losing it'. I would have, too. If I had been there I would have helped you out...seriously!!! But that was one big kitty cat staring you down...good thing there was a fence between the two of you or that big kitty would have been mince-meat in your paws. Right? I think you are very brave to have stood up to that fluffy furrball...I would have told him to go brush himself!! hahaha! Your pal and distant cousin, Tiny
ReplyDeleteI hope you got rid of that introoder!
ReplyDeleteAnd funny how some cats don't purr. Our Gaia does not purr either....kinda like she does not want mom to know she is happy or something. She only purrs when she is making biscuits and then when mom catches her purring she quickly stops!
