Ouchie Ollie Friday!

Ollie: I have an ouchie. It's on my front right paw. #1 noticed it a couple of days ago and emailed a photo to Dr. C. She also noticed I was licking it so she put a sock on it. Dr. C called her back and told her that it looked like an infectious granuloma. She said I should put cortisone cream on it 2-3 times a day, and I should not be allowed to lick it, at all. She said the choice was between a sock and a cone of shame. Given that we are getting temps in the mid 30sC (90sF) at the moment, #1 figured that a sock would be the better option. She looked through her supplies and found an excellent one made of neoprene with a good velcro fastening, and on it went.

So this is what the ouchie looks like:

Here I am sporting my chic neoprene sock:

And I still managed to make a new friend. This guy was visiting Fernant. He is a whippet called Boy.

Stay cool and stay safe, everyone!

Tama-Chan Tuseday

Tama-Chan: Thank you, Dear Friends, for all the lovely messages you sent me on my birthday. I was so touched by each and every one of them! And I have to say, I don't feel a day over eight! I am crossing all my paws that I shall continue to feel this way for many years to come!

It has been a quiet few days and I have been relaxing at home. In this next photo, you can see y special paw quite clearly:

I continue to take proper time each day to make sure everything is beautiful about my person:

That aside, I just sit there looking gorgeous. What else is a Queen to do?

Sunday Celebration - Queen Tama's Birthday!

#1 here. Today is our beloved Tama-Chan's 12th birthday. Our Queen Tama, Mama Tama, and the Keeper of memories. She and I have come on a long journey together over the last 12 years.

This is the first photo I ver saw of her:

Needless to say, it was love at first sight. Her breeder told me she had some deformities on her paws and did I want her. All he wanted in exchange was that she have a litter of kittens. So, Tama arrived at Poupounette Central for Halloween 2008.

She very quickly became best friends with Sen-Chan:

And once Sen-Chan left, it was Tommy who raised her.

A little more than a year after she arrived, she had a litter of four beautiful kittens who were born by C-section.

Of the four kittens, it was her son, Beebs, who stayed on.

At first, Tama was rather a distant cat but, over the years, she has become more and more snuggly and sweet. She and I love to sit together.

Tama has always been drop-dead gorgeous:

With amazing eyes!

As the years have passed, she has become quite mellow. She had a health scare a few years ago. We initially feared it might be a cardiac issue, but it turned out to be an unspecified allergy, so she takes a very low dose of prednisone on a daily basis. So far so good. She has grown quite adept at unique and innovate dangles.

The loss in short order of Sei-Chan, Tommy and Bibi was a big blow to us all, and she wasn't at all sure when a new puppy arrived, but she has become extremely fond of Ollie.

She has become increasingly relaxed as she naps around the house.

She also enjoys spending time out in the cat run:

My Tama is infinitely precious to me. Together, we keep the memories of The Poupounette. I hope we will walk together for many more years.

HAPPY 12TH BIRTHDAY TAMA-CHAN!

Sei-Chan's Souvenir Saturday

Sei-Chan: Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a great summer. Can you believe it's August already? This week, I have a full array of pics for you, and I have gone with a summer theme. All the pictures were taken in August.

Ikkyu used to spend the summers with #1 in Canada, at her cottage in PEIO, an this is a great shot of him decorating the table, ready for a party:

Sen-Chan used to go outside and here is a great pic of him playing in the tall grass in the field:

Next is my sweet Yuu-Chan, when he was still a little kit:

And whilst we're at it, me when I was still a youngster, lounging about on the tatami:

Da Beebs used to love being in the hammock in the cat run:

Trav, of course, always was outdoors, but he also liked his comfort. Here he is up on his mattress in the open shed:

As for Tommy, here he is gambolling in the field in August when he was still a youngster, with #1's shadow!

We hope you enjoyed this week's selection. Happy August! And please be sure to join us tomorrow for a celebration!
