Sunday "Selebration" - Ollie's 4th Birthday!

 

Ollie: Can you believe that it's already my 4th birthday? I can't! It seems like yesterday when #1 and Tommy's breeder came to collect me from my breeder. That's the nice Ms. A holding me in the photo:

As soon as I got home, I knew who my #1 was!

And here I am the next day, with Mr. G and Ms. N!

I went to see Dr. C for my first check-up the day after I arrived. She said I was a lovely boy!

I was pretty cute!

I as lucky that Fernant agreed to be my buddy right from the start:

He was my mentor: and I looked up to him in all things

And I got to meet Noelle for the first time!

I even met Tommy's sister, Sophie!

That summer, I went to the beach for the first time:

And I met Heloise, who lived in the field next to us at the time:

I grew into a very handsome boy!

Noelle was my bestest friend!

And Fernant too, of course!

In the spring of 2021, Noelle and I had a daughter, Lily!

Lily grew into a lovely girl:

And I am lucky to have my wonderful pussycats:

At the end of last year, I had to have major surgery to repair a torn cruciate ligament in my hind left leg. I was on very restricted activity for a couple of months, and made a great recovery!

Sadly, we lost the one and only Fernant in the summer of 2021, and my lovely Noelle ran off to the bridge in September. #1 says that I have really matured over the past year, and have become her protector. I am proud to be a good Dad to Lily and little Leonie, and a trusty companion to my #1.

#1 here. Ollie had some pretty huge paws to fill when he arrived and it took some time for him to grow into the wonderful dog he is now. Everyone who meets him loves him and he is really lucky to have a second #1 (#2!) in Mr. G when I go away, We all love you, Ollie-Poo and wish for you many walks, friends, treats, and cuddles for many years to come!

Thankful Thursday

Benny: Today is Thankful Thursday and we are thankful for being a family. Here are all three of us kitties, getting our evening treats:

Queen Tama does not join us very often upstairs, so this was pretty special. Momo was intrigued...

We are thankful that #1's problems have been resolved, and for the enormous kindness of one particular old friend this week. It has gone some way to restoring #1's faith in human nature. With our blessing, she is taking a few days off, starting tomorrow, to visit an old friend in Luxembourg, so we will be taking a break too, EXCEPT for Sunday! Please come and join us for our very own woofie's 4th Birthday Party. Mr. G and family will be doing the honours in #1's absence.

Woofie Wednesday

 

Ollie: Woofs, everyone! Ollie here!  First off, you may have noticed that we have finally updated our header. #1 had been meaning to do it for a while, but with one thing and another, it didn't happen. As happens every time we lose someone, we were deeply saddened to remove our beloved Hotesse from the header, but we also had the pleasure of adding our little Momo.

Yesterday, #1 and I went to see the horses and I got to spend time with my daughter, Lily, and my step-daughter, Leonie. With Noelle running off to the Bridge as she did, I feel that I need to step up to provide some wise parental guidance to Leonie. Imagine if the only guidance she got was from her big sister, Lily!!!

The little one is growing fast and she is cute as a button:

But boy she is a fierce little thing too! Here is a shot of the three of us wrestling. Leonie is little but she gives as good as she gets!

I am happy I can help look after her!

Momo-Chan: #1 said I could host today's post. I am really excited and I have some fun photos for you! Here first is one of me relaxing on the back of the armchair. #1 tells me this was a favourite place of TOWCB, Genji:

I also wanted to share the good news that the problems #1 was having with her awful clients have finally been resolved, and she got paid what was owed her, so she can continue to keep us in the style we are accustomed to!

Sunday "Selebration" Snuggles

 

Tama-Chan: Justra short post today to tell you that #1 is back an her surgery went really well. It's  bit hard for her to work at the computer right now as she doesn't yet have the right glasses to see close-up., but she sees really well at a distance with her right eye now!

Vidock: Handsome Neighs, EveryFriend! The Big V here! So this week, #1 managed to get nice portraits of each of us, but mine was photobombed! Well, I guess I had it coming...

Violette: Yes, you did!

Heloise: I'll just stand here and look pretty...

Today, #1 is going to Paris to get LASIK surgery on her right eye. She will be back tomorrow and Mr. G will look after the gang at Poupounette Central. We are crossing hooves that all will go well for her and she'll be able to come and see us early next week. She is not supposed to be having much screen time in the immediate aftermath, so we will not be blogging tomorrow. We are not sure yet about Sunday.

Benny's Birthday Thursday!

 

#1 here. I have no idea where the time has gone but, today, we are celebrating Benny's second birthday! We are not sure of his exact birth date, other than it was "sometime in October" so we decided arbitrarily on the 20th. 

When Benny (whose full name is BENKEI after a famous Japanese warrior monk) arrived, he was a mess and his first appointment was with Dr. C, to see about his ears:

She thought he had ear mites and an infection so he was kept in isolation and got to know his #1:

In the event, it turned out that he had a bigger ear problem than initially thought, so off we went to VetRef, the referral hospital, where they discovered that he had a big polyp in one ear:

He had to have surgery and then go back into quarantine for a while:

Once he came out, his best buddy Ollie looked after him:

He grew into a healthy, handsome, and happy mancat:

But something was missing from his life. I felt that he desperately needed a playmate.

I came up with a plan but then I hurt my ankle badly in early April so Benny had to take care of me.

Once I got better, I started plotting again and in mid-June, Benny's dream came true!

Only a few days after Momo (Momotarō) arrived, the two were already playing together! The two boys have become the best of friends and it is a joy to see them together.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, sweet Benny! You have brought so much love and light into all our lives. May all your days be merry and full of love, and your years long and healthy.
