Ollie's First Birthday!

#1 here. Today is Ollie's first birthday and I feel terrible not being there to celebrate with him. But.... he is in the best of hands, and Mr. G and Ms. N have already started celebrating, and sent the following pics through:

A great card!

Birthday cuddles from Mr. G and Ms. N:

And a gift!

Yum!

Ollie-Poo, you arrived at a very difficult time, with Da Beebs being so sick. You had never seen a cat and that was a challenge. But you have been a very good boy and it has been wonderful to watch you grow up into a fine young man. I can't wait to see you again, and it's now only a week away!

Oh, and in case you had forgotten. this is Ollie the day after he arrived at Poupounette Central, at Dr. C's for a check-up (photo by Mr. G)

We also received this fabulous birthday card for Ollie from Wags and Wiggles. Thank you!

Feline Friday - Cat-Crazy Japan: Part Deux!

#1 here. I never cease to be amazed at the cat-centric nature of Japanese culture! Here are a few more shots snapped at random as I have ambled through Tokyo:

Thankful Thursday

Queen Tama here. It has been almost three weeks since #1 abandoned us and we have somehow managed to survive. She will be back with us in about a dozen more days. In the interim, truth be told, Mr.G is looking after us really well so we can hardly complain! And so we are thankful.

Minka on Monday!

#1 here. My old friend Jeremy, who lives in Tokyo, was immensely kind when Da Beebs was so sick. Over a period of several months, he sent care packages of delicious Japanese foods with which to tempt Da Beebs to eat. I went to visit him last week, and got a couple of nice shots of his lovely cat, Minka. She is an older Tortie lady, and very vocal!

A Few Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: #1 has remained extremely busy and things are not likely to change next week, so our posting and commenting will remain intermittent. But we do have a few pics taken by Mr. G.

 Ollie with our cousin, Tora-Chan:

Ollie with Odie (!) who is Tora-Chan's brother:

Mr. G with Da Genj!

And a little snuggle between me and Da Genj!

Earlier this week, #1 was staying with French friends in Tokyo who have a woofie. He is a grand old man called Elliot, and #1 enjoyed taking him out for a walk! Here he is saying hello to one of the local girls:

Our apologies once again for our lack of commenting.

Manly Monday with Ollie

Ollie: Woofs, Everyone! You want manly? I have manly for you! Mr. G and I went on 12km walk/run in one and a half hours. I think we might become long-distance running partners!

#1 is moving from Hokkaido, in the north of Japan, to Tokyo today. She has a very full schedule once again, and we are not sure whether we will be able to post during the week. We will try to include at least one post, but make no promises. Our apologies also for the lack of comments. #1 says she has only been gone for a week but has done so much that she feels she has been gone for a month already!

Sunday Shopping

Tama-Chan: #1 has been crazy busy all this week, and the lecture she was invited to Japan to give was yesterday. It was a lecture on horses in France hosted by the Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Science. We are relieved to hear it went very well!

I am also relieved to tell you that, in the midst of all the madness, #1 also found the time to start doing a little shopping for us!

There will be more, but it's a good start! #1 says to tell you that we will try to visit some blogs tomorrow.

Saturday Switch

Rainbow Tommy: Woofs, Everyone! It has been quite a week with #1 in northern Japan. At last, she has been in northern Japan and so, far away from that monster typhoon! Anyway, I kept a close eye on her last week, and "strangely", this picture kept popping up on her Mac!

As for Da Beebs, he has been fluttering around her in the shape of a butterfly! She immediately knew him too!

So, Beebs and I are now returning to the Bridge and Sei-Chan and Sen-Chan are taking over. I know they will do a great job!

PS: For those of you who have been worried about #1 being in Japan, with that monster typhoon approaching, she is way up north, on the island of Hokkaido, so she should be fine. She is scheduled to fly down to Tokyo on Monday, however. We will keep you posted.

Feline Friday With Fuku-Chan

#1 here. As those of you on Facebook will know, my time in Japan has been very much centred on horses so far, but this does not mean that it has been catless!

On Tuesday, I spent part of the day with friends at the racecourse. He is a trainer and she is general caretaker and does all the horse decorations. Aside from horses, they love cats and have several. Today, I would like to introduce the very handsome Fuku-Chan:

This magnificent panther came to his owners when he was a tiny kitten, and he is now 16 years old.

He is much loved by Ms. Y!

He loves the special "Chûru" creamy treats!

But, you see, Fuku-Chan is diabetic and he needs daily insulin injections. Ms. M, Ms. Y's daughter, tests him to adjust the levels as needed:

And then he gets exactly the right amount of insulin.

He is really a very lucky boy!

Thankful Thursday

Tama & Genji: Even though we are not thankful for #1 being away for such a long time, we are really thankful that we have Mr. G and Ms. N who take such wonderful care of us, so we don't feel lonely or sad.

Don't forget to join us tomorrow for a special edition of Feline Friday!
