Throw-Back Thursday - The Balls

#1 here. For so many years, Thursday was Tommy's day on the blog. Since his departure, we have mostly followed the Thankful Thursday theme, but there is always that pull back to Tommy. So, please humour me this week with a Throw-Back Thursday featuring Tommy.

Tommy's great passion in life was his ball(s). He had many of them and loved every single one passionately. In early years, we used tennis balls which he would shredded in a matter of hours or days, depending on the quality. And then I discovered the more durable rubber balls and we were set!

Sometime, he would carry a little extra baggage with his ball!

They came in different sizes and colours:

Most of the time, it was Tommy who would choose which ball he would take out that day. Very occasionally, he would lose one, and even more occasionally, we would find it again months later!

Little Ollie has started  his ball appreciation education, but it will be a while yet until he truly gets the value of a good ball!

Woofie Wednesday

Ollie: Wood Woof! Have any of you seen my #1? She just disappeared! I have been looking for her everywhere, but I can't find her. And I can't find the kitties either. I have been staying with Ms.J and Mr. R. I have my bed and some of my toys, and I have made a new friend. He is HUGE. This is a picture of him we borrowed from Mr. R's Facebook page:

I am learning lots and Ms. J and Mr. R are being really nice to me, but I can't wait for #1 to come back!

I have a few photos for you from last week.

Hey, did I mentioned that #1 weighed me when we took Bro Beebs to the vet's last Friday. I weighed 11.5 kilos! That's 25lb! She says my new nickname is "Chunky Monkey"!

And I have been meeting these HUGE creatrues. #1 says they are my sister and brother, but I am not sure I believe her!

I am going to close with this photo taken with Fernant the other day. #1 says I am doing really well on something she calls "Flying Ears"!

Tama-Chan Tuseday

Tama-Chan: Well, it hadn't happened for a while but we knew it was going to happen sooner or later. #1 has gone away again! She has gone for a quick trip to Paris, to visit the big annual agricultural fair. She left this morning and she will be back by lunchtime on Thursday (and will apparently be going away again the following week...). Mr. G and Ms. N will look after us, with some extra help from our friend, Ms. E, to help them give my Beebs his pills. The little terror has been sent off to boarding school (haHaHA!). #1 took him on Monday evening to Ms. J  and Mr. R's who have been schooling him and who agreed to have him stay whilst she is away. He will get lots of teaching whilst #1 is away!

Anyway, the open window in the kitchen has been simply divine these past few days!

I have even been enjoying some special times with my Beebsy son:

And sunpuddles have been plentiful everywhere.

Long may it continue. I shan't make any comments about how peaceful the house is without you-know-who...

Manly Monday

Da Genj: Hello everyone! The Shining Prince here! #1 wanted me to show you this photo which she took the other day when I was eating She says it shows the beautiful silvery reflections of my coat!

I am having fun with my new woofie bro, Ollie. The others think I am crazy, but I think he is cool.

The weather has been so nice these past few days that #1 has opened the window in the kitchen so we could enjoy some window whiffies. Look at what she caught with her camera!

Vidock: We horses are also enjoying the dryer weather, and we are beginning to shed our thick winter coats, as Violette explained the other day. So, it feels really good when #1 comes to brush us!

I got to meet this little guy at last!

And I of course got a treat bucket!

Da Beebs: Here I am, enjoying some window whiffies with my Mama Tama.

The sun has been feeling so good on my furs!

#1 is quite pleased with this photo:

Ollie: Woof Woof! Ollie here! I have been having lots of great adventures! Guess what? #1 took me on my very first restaurant outing last Friday. She told me I was very good.

And I've been having so much fun with my buddy Fernant!

We would like to wish all of you a very good week!

Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: I admire, Dear Friends, that I feel a bit of a fraud doing the SoS post these days, as I have not been snuggling much with anyone, with the exception of #1. Still, she tells me it just wouldn't be the same without me, so I shall carry on, hoping for snugglier days.

I think that we will start with the Vs this week, as there are some cute photos with them. The first one is this great snuggle selfie that #1 took of her and Violette:

And we have a fun one with The Big V and Ollie too!

And how about this cute one of Fernant with a brotherly paw around Ollie

Here we have #1 with Da Beebs:

#1 with Da Genj:

And #1 with Ollie:

Wishing you all a Sunday filled with love (and treats!).

Sei-Chan's Souvenir Saturday

Rainbow Sei: Hello, Friends! I hope you have had a good week. It's always lovely here at the Bridge, but we were happy to see that they had some nice weather at Poupounette Central also these past few days!

Since you seem to like the date format we adopted last week, we have decided to stick with it for a while, so let me see what I have for you this week.

For a start, here is a nice one of Tommy and Sen-Chan, taken on February 28, 2008:

This one of Tommy and Madrac playing bitey-face, also taken on February 26, 2008, is quite funny because Ollie and Fernant are now getting up to exactly the same shenanigans!

This one of me, of course, is a great classic. It was taken the first time that #1 met me, on February 18, 2009. I was only three weekes old!

Here is beautiful Yuu-Chan in one of the sky hammocks, on February 24, 2010:

Here is Ikkyu on February 24, 2004. He had gone with #1 to England and the photo was taken in her childhood bedroom:

And I think that is about all I have for you on this "Seiturday". So, let me just wish you all a lovely weekend. We have welcomed so many old friends here these past few days that we have decided to temporarily close the RB Gates. Please stay where you are, folks!

Violette Vendredi

Violette: Pretty neighs, everyone! I hope you are well. It seems that spring has come early to our corner of France and I am already beginning to lose my thick winter coat. There will be many hours of fun in it for #1 when that gets going in earnest!

It has been quite a while since I posted so I have some nice photos for you. I think my favourite is this one, when I went for a walk with Ms. C:

On the way back, Ms. C decided to ride me the way farmers used to ride their draft horses when returning from the fields in olden days:

Here I am coming over after hearing #1's car:

And this is my best come hither look!

#1 keeps saying that she hopes to ride me soon. I hope so too!

We have had so many sad announcements in Blogville this week that we thought it would be good to have a happy one. We were thrilled to see this photo on our Facebook feed:

Yes! That is the one and only Daisy, aka The Curly Cat. Daisy and her brother Harley had one of the best blogs ever until she stopped blogging after Thanksgiving 2013. On February 10th, her Mom Abby posted the lovely above photo on Facebook in celebration of Daisy's 15th birthday. She writes: "Considering she just turned 15, my little old lady cat is doing pretty well. She takes amlodipine every day for her blood pressure. She also has kidney disease now, so she eats a prescription kidney diet and takes a twice daily potassium supplement. Even though Daisy has slowed down a bit, she's still the smartest and funniest cat I've ever known." Live long and prosper, sweet Daisy!

Thoughtfully Thankful Thursday

Da Beebs: Mee-Yow, one and all! Beebsy Boy here with an update. I have been eating and eating, and then eating some more! Food tastes so good these days! I have also been a really good boy about taking my meds. Let me tell you, three pills (2 antibiotics and one milk thistle) twice a day is a lot of pills for any cat. #1 doesn't always get it right the first time for all three. Sometimes one goes flying and she has to retrieve it. And I stay right there and wait for her! She says I am a complete sweetheart, but I knew that already!

So, today, I would like to say how thankful I am that my #1 never gave up on me, and that my appetite has returned. Tomorrow, I go in for another blood test, and to be weighed. I would really appreciate it if you could send some purrs my way and cross a few paws that the results will show a real improvement.

Two days ago, we expressed our great sadness at hearing that our good friend Wally, of Island Cats, had gone to the Bridge. It breaks our hearts to hear that another dear friend, Sammy Meezer of Meezer Tails has also left for the Bridge. There has been so much sadness lately, around us and within our own home. We would like to send each and every one of you purrs and hugs. Know that we care about all of you.

Woofie Wednesday.

Ollie: Woof-Woof! Ollie here! It has been an exciting week so far and it's only Wednesday!

On Monday, #1 and I went for my lesson, in which I was learning to walk on the lead properly. I was doing pretty well but #1 must have put her feet in the wrong place at some stage because she ended up with a lightly pulled muscle... She is taking it easy.

On the same day, I had a totally awesome experience! I went for my first-ever carriage ride! The lady who is training me and her husband, Ms. J and Mr. R, have a couple of Percheron horses, and we went out for a drive. It was a beautiful day!

#1 did some driving too!

#1 was sitting up front, so Ms. J looked after me. #1 says there will be lots more so I had better get used to it.

And afterwards, Ms. Jane spent some time working with me:

I like learning new things!
