#1 here. Genji, whose full name is GENJI DES REVES D'ATON, came to us exactly a year ago today. He flew into Paris Orly airport from South-West France where he was born, and I drove there to get him. It may seem strange that I had to go get a kitten so far away, but I had had a very bad experience with my local breeder, having lost two young cats from his cattery to leukemia, and I wanted to get as far away from his bloodlines as possible. Genji's mother is called Bastet and his father Dynastie Bleu Ré. They are both blue Abyssinians, just like him. I had initially picked a fawn kitten from that same litter but the breeder told me that kitten was rather shy and might be overwhelmed by my existing gang. On the other hand, his brother, even though small in size, was very outgoing and playful. Thus Genji came to join us. This was taken at the airport, the first time I held him:
Genji started to settle in right away when we got home. He did spend his first few days with us confined to the back room and I spent a lot of time with him and slept with him.
He developed his "velcro" style early on...
The next picture is his first meeting with The Beebs who was really very nice with him, not hissing at all. Overall, Genji adjusted to the rest of the family extremely well and quickly

Genji, we are just so happy to have you with us at Poupounette Central. I know I occasionally call you a thug and you do have a habit of pouncing on poor Sei-Chan and scaring her, but even Tama, who is quite particular, loves to play with you! May you be with us for many, many years and always bring your joy and sweetness into this house. A special thanks also to your breeder, Sylvia, who let you come and join us!
