Thankful Thursday

Thei-Chan:
It is easy to think that when such horrors happens as what Japan has been going through, it is hard to find much to be thankful for. But the human spirit is resilient and we are seeing great kindness for which to be very thankful. When we first mentioned the Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue and Support organisation, they had received a little over $1,000 in donations. As of this writing, the total was over $140,000! It makes us feel very warm and fuzzy.

Today is grey and a little rainy, and Tama-Chan and I are having a quiet day, feeling very thankful for all that we have.

The boys are recovering from all that smooching... They too are very thankful!

UPDATE: It is coming up to 6pm here in France and the Japan Animal Rescue Chip-In button is up to $165,000!!!!

PS: Our friend SPARKLE is running a COMMENTHATON today in aid of a major fundraising drive for Japan by World Vets. Please stop by and leave a comment!

It continues to be heartbreaking to watch the footage of wave after wave of devastation. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the Japanese nation.

  4. We send lots of cuddles and smoochings back to you and forward millions of them to everyone (with and without fur) in Japan. Everyone could use a cuddle and a smooch no matter what the situation, but I think the Japanese definitely could all use them RIGHT NOW. Purrs to the whole gang at your place. We have the same weather as you do today...drizzle, but we think the ground needs it so we aren't complaining (yet). Lautrec, Tiny and ElDawgO

  5. Yes, we are all feeling thankful for what we have right now.
We are inspired by the strength and dignity of the Japanese people in the aftermath of this horrible tragedy. Our weather is unseasonably hot 90F/32C. When we are tempted to complain, we think of all the fine people and animals who have lost everything and we are humbled.

  7. It is wonderful about the funds being raised for animals in Japan. We hope that very soon real help can be provided to the people who are suffering too. Mom knows how frightened she would be if she was in a situation like that. However she also wishes the news programs would stop focussing on doom and gloom coverage, because it is causing many to panic and sending stock markets into a downward spin as well, and that is going to hurt millions of people round the globe.

We do have so much to be thankful for. I will try not to complain about anything today, especially not about my food bowl being a few seconds late!!

  15. The Housekeeper has added the Chip In widget for the Japan Earthquake Animal Relief Appeal to the front page of her business website, www.theatricalthreads.co.uk. She sells children's animal costumes, so it seems very appropriate. We hope it gets lots of response

Crystal has supervised and is purring so she obviously approves!
