Wonder Whinny Wednesday - Italian Magic!

#1 here. This is one of those rare occasions when I diverge from the gang altogether to share something wonderful with you. The main reason why I went on my overnight trip to the Salon du Cheval, the big horse show in Paris, last week was to see a dear friend from Italy, Simonetta Ferrarin, who works magic with her seven-year old Percheron stallion, J'Adore.

Just look at the two of them:

Simonetta is a real inspiration. She tells me that, as a four year old, J'Adore was even naughtier than Vidock! If Vidock can do half of what J'Adore does now when he is the same age, I shall be over the moon.

Aside from the daily presentations in the ring, Simonetta and J'Adore also took part in a gala show on several evenings, together with many of Italy's most famous equestrian artists:

A truly wondrous experience!

Now, today is the day when I go off to the king's castle… The king of a country beginning with…M!

  3. Morocco, perhaps? Monaco only has a prince. And J'Adore is definitely worth adoring!

  8. Mum speaking here : just gorgeous ! I had the opportunity a few years ago to see lippizzans at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna http://www.srs.at/en/ and to attend the show of Zingaro http://www.bartabas.fr/en/Zingaro/presentation in Switzerland. I am sure that you would also estimate (if it's not yet done) !

  11. Our mum has seen the LippIzaners ( also many years ago) and couldn't believe what was before her eyes. Beauty beyond measure.
Morocco has a king but they have that martial horse thing that totally creeps us out. Is #1 tricking us? We can't wait to find out.

I went to a show a few years ago where I saw four breeds, Lippizaner, Andalusians, Lusitanos and Friesians put on a wonderful Haute Ecole performance.
