Trying Again on Thursday

 

#1 here. On Thursday, April 23rd, we posted about committing to rescue a kitten from Lebanon and setting up a fundraising campaign through GoFundMe to meet the associated costs. Our friends were amazing in contributing to the campaign and the necessary funds were raised within a week. However,  GoFundMe hijacked the funds, on the pretence of checking the genuineness of my campaign, and has not paid me a single Euro. I provided them with all the extra information they requested immediately. That was several weeks ago. Since then, they have not responded to any of my numerous messages. There is no way to contact them by phone, and AI seems to handle all chat and email enquiries. In the end, I gave up and cancelled the campaign, and all donors should be getting refunds in the coming week. The situation regarding the kitten is still the same, however, and I still need the funds, so here we go again with a different fundraising platform, this one based in Europe. I am still in shock over GoFundMe's viciousness. I have since found out that they are being sued by a number of registered charities in California for arbitrarily setting up fundraisers in their names without consulting them. There is clearly something very wrong with these people.
