#1 here, reporting from the New Forest in England. I know this will disappoint some of you, but I thought I would share a few photos from the heavy horse event I have been attending over here.
Needless to say, any horsey event usually features a lot of dogs, and this is one of my very favourites, a beautiful Sibe girl called Skye who was rescued from a very ugly situation just over a year ago:
But of course, horses are the main feature!
I got to go for a drive on the New Forest with this two wonderful Shire horses:
But they are not just pretty faces! They are awesome at obstacle courses, and won the 2-day competition!
Back to dogs, here is Olive, and her daughter, Nettle:
There were quite a few labs around too!
This was a horse doing his first trial. He did really well!
As did this lovely pair:
It's always a fun time!
Looked like a great driving event. Skye has a lovely face.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like it was a fun event!
ReplyDeleteWe liked the horses and woofies too :)
Bet it was exciting.

I love your horse posts! It's awesome seeing the heavy horses in action.
ReplyDeleteI bet it was a super time... such events are like coming home somehow ;O)))
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed all of those photos, what fun!
ReplyDeleteWe love seeing all these photos from the horse event. Our pawrents are sad that the driving competition that was hosted in a nearby town for over 25 years has ended. It was always fun to watch the obstacle course competition.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good time is being had by all, two-footed and four-footed critters!
ReplyDeletePrecious Skye! I'm so glad she was rescued. How do people abuse 4 leggeds I'll never understand!
ReplyDeleteAll the horses look wonderful...I bet you are having the time of your life there.
Love Sherri-Ellen & BellaDharma
The horses are amazing! We don't even mind seeing the dogs either.
ReplyDeleteWe hope you have a wonderful time #1. Those horses and doggies all look so beautiful. Love seeing the lab sitting there watching everything going on. Thanks for the share. Have a great weekend.

What a beautiful and captivating white dog! When I saw her I just gasped. Sometimes when one see an animal one seems to feel an immediate connection, a desire to stroke their heads and hold them close. A bit of everyday magic, I think.
ReplyDeleteHow we’d love to see these beautiful horses at an event like yours. Too often we only see old, sad, dispirited horses pulling carriages through heavy and dangerous urban traffic in sweltering heat or freezing cold.
Tommy would have loved meeting all those dogs too:) Skye is beautiful. How wonderful that she was rescued.
ReplyDeleteThe horses are just amazing to see - they all look so strong and powerful.
Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Skye est magnifique.
ReplyDeleteJ'ai toujours toujours été impressionnée par les Shires. Incroyable cette taille.
Bonne soirée
It looks like a pawsome event ! Such heavy horses, and so agile at the same time ! Purrs
