Genji:Yes! It's me again! I bet you are wondering why I am posting two days in a row. Well... this is what happened. All was well on #1's early return on Wednesday and for the rest of the day and night. Da Beebs and I both slept with her as usual, he under and me over-cover. But when we woke up yesterday, #1 could immediately tell that something wasn't quite right with me. I looked like I wanted to throw up, but didn't. I kept swallowing. She said it looked a bit like I had something stuck in my throat. She gave us our breakfast and I only ate a little (I usually eat up my whole dish). She watched me all morning and I was the same. So, as soon as the vet's office opened after the lunch break, she called them and made an appointment for 4pm.
The way she explained it to me is that I am a fragile boy and she just will not take any chances with me, ever. When we got there, Dr. C examined me thoroughly. I had no fever but sounded a little congested. She said that she had been getting four to five cats coming in a day lately with similar symptoms, and that it looked like my throat might be sore. She gave me an injection and I have a 5-day course of antibiotics to take. Once she had finished dealing with me, Dr. C sat down with #1 to shoot the breeze for a while (they are good friends) as there were no other patients waiting, as I explored the exam room and ate a bunch of treats #1 had brought along (my appetite was already returning). They were talking in hushed tones, something about today being day one of the end of the world as we know it. No idea what that was all about...
After I came home, I had several meals and slept a bunch. #1 did not take any photos at the vet's, but here are some sunpuddle shots she got in the morning before we left:
So, we're glad it's finally Friday and we are crossing our paws for a good weekend, and that I continue to feel better. Thanks to the friends who already put nice comments on Facebook!
Oh, and guess what? The good camera has just returned, and we are supposed to get lots more sunpuddles, so #1 is planning to click away!
