Vidock: Studly Neighs, Everyone. Your favourite Percheron stallion reporting! I mentioned a few days ago that I would have exciting news to share with you. #1 has been working the last few days on developing and putting this in place, and now we can reveal all. I AM GOING TO BOARDING SCHOOL! I mean real, high-end school! As you know, I have already been through "basic training" and have been ridden, even by #1. However, as I am a frisky and very strong young stallion, it is very important that I get a really solid education whilst I am still young. So… I will be moving for a few months to a new location in mid-November, closer to Poupounette Central in fact, and will be taken in hand by a very experienced horseman who works in the classical French riding style, who has been a national level show-jumper, and who has trained top-end horses for several decades. But.. he has never before worked with a percheron so he is very curious and quite excited at the prospect. #1 is over the moon.
My new paddock is already ready at the new place and #1 tells me I will have an amazing view over the rolling Percheron countryside!
The place I am going has mainly Arab horses as well as thoroughbreds, but they do have one Percheron mare! #1 tells me that I am probably the first percheron in France to be going to someone of this calibre for schooling and so, as I will be representing my breed, I need to be a very good boy. Gotcha, #1!
Violette: Well, I am staying put with all my friends here, and am busy growing my winter coat now that it has started to get colder. Here I am the other day, when a couple of friends of #1's came to visit:
This is me in my field, before I get groomed by #1. As you can see, I am beginning to take on that nice sheen of mud…
And by the way, in case you think I am going to laze about whilst the Big V goes to school… Au Contraire! I am going to learn to drive!
What exciting news for you Vidock! A school close to home and learning so much. We think you will do just fine.
ReplyDeleteViolette, we think it is neat that you will be learning to drive!
