Tama's Tuesday Tommy Tale

Tama-Chan: So many of our friends really liked the picture of me and Tommy snuggling that we put up as part of our last Snuggles on Sunday post. Perhaps you are not all aware of just how much I love Tommy and why. So I thought I would take you back in time a little and tell you about it.

When I first came to live at Poupounette Central, I was a little kitten and a bit of a scaredykit. There was a red boycat who was already living here and a huge woofie. I hid a lot.

Then the red boycat, Sen-Chan, showed me just how sweet he was and we became really good friends. He was so nice to me and protected me from everything!

I loved him with all my kitten heart, but one day, he went away and he never came back (Sen-Chan was felled by FeLV in early January 2009, at 18 months). I can't tell you how sad I was. And then, the big woofie, Tommy, reached out to me and took me under his paws! He followed me everywhere, snuggled me and played with me.

He gave me back confidence and trust. For the longest time, Tommy was the only one I would ever purr for. It is only after I had my own kittens that I learned to purr for #1 too, and for them of course!

So, Dear Friends, Tommy holds a very, very special place in my heart and always will. And I made sure that my Bibi realised this when he was still very small:

  3. Mum can remember Sen-Chan a little but it was through an english cat blog that she heard the sad news about him. It was nice for us to see a picture of Sen-Chan with Tama-Chan and we can see now why Tommy means such a lot to Tama-Chan.

  10. That is just beautiful!!! I love that they snuggle with Tommy :-)

Today for the very first time Casper lay down with our woofie Rio, it was only for a moment (I ran for the camera but it was too late) because Rio gets too excited and I think it startles Casper a little.

  24. What a lovely and moving story. Mum has tears in her eyes (what is it with beans?). We have always wondered how Tommy happened to have such an affinity for kitties? Was he a scared little pup who was loved and comforted by a kitty? He is such an extraordinary woofie in so many ways. Mum always says he is an old soul, wise beyond his earthly years.
