Snuggles on Sunday - The Family Edition!

Tama-Chan: OK, this is it. This is the last Sunday when I shall be here with all of my kits, and it is therefore an opportunity for some very special snuggles. And we did ourselves proud! Tommy came to visit and look what happened:

As I snuggled with Tommy, several of the kits were snuggling with me, for a quick dip at the Mama Buffet whilst another kit was playing Pat-a-Cake with Tommy. Talk about a group snuggle! Here I am with my Tommy again:

In one of their very rare all quiet moments, the kits all snuggled with #1 for a nap...

You can see how big they are getting!

As for the other side of the door, #1 tells me that Sei-Chan continues to snuggle with Tommy and was caught in this rather unusual position a few days ago:

Here is a much more traditional shot of the two of them:

And she even found the time for a quick smooch with Yuu-Chan!

And finally for today, we have a photo that our little buddy Tora-Chan sent us, of him snuggling with his brother Kaze and their mum:

Have a snuggly Sunday everyone!

Say! It's SEIturday!!!

Sei-Chan: We have had utterly stinky weather all week. #1 and Tommy say that the fields are soggy and they have seen many low-lying ones that are under water as they have driven around. And we've also been getting a lot of wind. But we also have been getting this:

and this:

So maybe there is hope for spring!

Anyway, I have been spending much of my time in my favourite hammock, the one by the radiator. It is truly a perfect place to be, especially when #1 is working, as I have a clear view of her desk...

So I can supervise...

And think on the meaning of life...

And then when it all gets to be too exhausting...

All in all, it is a truly excellent location!

#1 has been telling me that there is some excitement in store for the end of next week. I wonder what? You know my sister Tama-Chan has been gone a long time. Do you think she's coming back? That little pest Yuu-Yuu has been smiling knowingly since he managed to sneak into the back room a couple of times. I wonder what he's hiding...

Frootbat Friday!

Tama-Chan: The date for the departure of my two boys, Fuku and GoGo and my little girl, Hime, is set at next Friday. So this means that today will be their final full "ensemble" frootbat post. Needless to say, we have no ensemble shots. They are bouncing off the walls. When she lies down on the bed, #1 says she now knows what it feels like to be a motorway... You get the idea.

Anyway, here is GoGo-Chan who has fairly spectacular froots and is never shy about displaying them properly!

Master Fuku-Chan with his set:

Little Hime-Chan who got a girly collar in anticipation of going to her new family:

And Bibi-Chan...

... who had a big morning today! He went on his very first solo outing, with just Tommy and #1, to get his second round of shots and to get chipped. He is now official! He was good as gold in the car (unlike a certain other someone whose name happens to start with a "Y") and purred his way through the vet visit!

Back to frootbats, and of course to ME! I am, after all, Mama Frootbat and, in the spirit of the kittens, thought I would show you a frooty photo of me when I was little:

Not bad, eh?! And this is, of course, is now:

Let's not forget "the others" whom Bibi-Chan and I will be joining soon. That Yuu-Chan managed to sneak into the kittens' room a few days ago, so the mystery element is no more. He seemed to like the look of them, and I know that surfer dude well enough by now to realise he didn't need to be hissed at. Do you know that he actually will take a running jump into #1's arms for a cuddle!!!

As for Sei-Chan, #1 is keeping her fingers crossed that she won't be too stressed by the changes. She is a rather delicate girl who is very sensitive.

Tommy Thursday

Tom: As you can see, I am pursuing my policy of giving you more Tommy exposure! The weather here has been quite stinky the last few days. In fact, the weather lady on TV last night didn't bother with anything too technical. She simply said "horrible"! There has been wind and rain, and rain and wind. Needless to say, I still enjoy my outings just as much even though we can't play with the Frisbee and #1 is not quite as enthusiastic as usual... By the end of each outing, I am various shades of brown and need some major towelling, but it's a small price to pay for this:

Now, as I do not have a lot of floof, I do not need a great deal of combing or maintenance, except for my ears which are magnets for all kinds of things, and need to be combed on a regular basis. I am reluctant to let most people do this, except of course for #1:

And once I am untangled and quite beautiful, I can then lie back and enjoy the sofa at leisure:

In closing, we were touched to receive a nice thank you card from our friends at Under One Roof, in memory of their beloved Itni, who crossed to the Bridge a week ago.

Way Back When-sday

#1 here. I decided to take a leaf (post?) out of our good friends Forever Foster's blog and steal their title! This is IKKYU, my very first Abyssinian, who was born in Japan and went to the Bridge in late August 2007. The photo was taken on his very first morning at home. He was not yet 8 weeks old and settling in very well. It was back in 1992...

They love us, and leave us, and we love all over again, but we never forget the joy each one brought!

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: I am happy to tell you, dear friends, that I have finally been given the recognition that is my due as reigning Queen of this house. On Sunday, #1 brought out one of her treasures, a stunning piece with lots of sparkling diamonds and put it where it belonged, around my neck!

Is it not just utterly PERFECT? I loved it! For some reason, #1 did not leave it there permanently but she says it's mine! I am seriously pleased!!!

In other news, it looks like the kits will be here a little longer than expected, probably till the middle of next week. We do have some news to share about them. Firstly, my little girl, Hime-Chan, will be going to live with a very nice couple not far from Paris and the great thing is that she will be sharing her new home with little Zange, who is Yuu-Chan's sister! Mr. Handsome, Fuku-Chan will be going to Uncle U's where he may well become a show cat and playboy. We are still looking for the perfect forever home for GoGo-Chan and will keep you posted. As for Bibi-Chan, I think many of you have already guessed that he will be staying right here and joining the Poupounette Gang full time!

They were all very excited this morning as #1 brought them a new toy, a wonderful Champagne box!

I made sure it was perfectly safe and then left them to it

#1 has been trying to get some photos of them, but it's hard work trying to get clear shots of constantly moving targets! Anyway, here goes for the best efforts:

To start with, we have ECHIGO, known as GoGo-Chan

Next up is EIFUKU, known as Fuku-Chan

My little EHIME, known as Hime-Chan

And last but not least, EBISU, known as Bibi-Chan

What an adventure this has been! It will be nice to have the run of the big house again soon, but I will never forget the coziness of our time in the "Kitten Palace."

Manly Monday With Yuu and Tommy!

Yuu-Chan: Since Tommy got quite a bit of coverage (or is that snugglage?) in yesterday's post, I asked #1 if I could go first today , and she said yes! Actually, I have a photo that I have been meaning to show you for several weeks. Remember my last trip to the vet for my cold? Yes, I am ALL better, thank you. But anyway, the thing is that our vet, Dr. C, is totally taken with me and I have proof!

Just look at that smile! She loves it when Yuu-Chan comes to visit!

I think I look pretty manly, and even fierce, in this next photo:

This next one is also from the archives, about ten days ago when we had some snow, and I braved it to go out into the run!

I can't wait to be able to go out into the run full-time again!

And finally for me today, here is a great photo of me and Tommy at play!

Tom: #1 has been telling me that only the manliest of manly woofies is capable of being an absolute gentleman with a bunch of rambunctious kittens! You should hear some of them spit at me when I move too fast! Wowee! But mostly, they're pretty fun.

Talking of fun, we have a fabulous picture showing me going after the frisbee in the castle moat:

And of course, the manliest pose of all, at rest on my sofa!

Snuggles on Sunday!

Tama-Chan: It has been a couple of weeks since out last snuggly post and we have a lot of catching up to do. Nowadays, the kits are a lot more interested in playing rough than in snuggling with me. #1 has made me a perch high up, where they cannot bounce off me, so I can supervise them in peace. Phew... Still, she tells me that I only have a few more days with them so I should enjoy them to the full.

We have been doing quite a bit of snuggling with Tommy since #1 has been bringing him into the back room almost every day for an hour or two. The kits have become quite used to him, and I think my Hime-Chan has a real soft spot for him!

Bibi-Chan has also been making friends with him...

and the others are getting closer:

Needless to say, I too have been over the moon at these visits:

I had really missed my Tommy!

Elsewhere, Sei-Chan has been cuddling with #1

Yuu-Chan cuddled with Siena and Chilli's mum when she was still here earlier in the week:

All in all, a pretty good week for snuggles!
