Manly Monday

Vidock: YOU MAY KISS......

Do you not think, as I do, that being kissable and being manly are one and the same thing?

Oh, and guess what? I got my very first award. One just for me! It was from Scylla, my kitty friend over at AFSS. t's the Opposites Attract Award:

Thank you so much, Scylla! I am supposed to pass it on to girls since I am a boy, so I would like to pass it to Hisia at Bleue Comme Aby, Ms. Akira at Cat Tales, and Millie at Bird Brains and Dog Tales.

Tommy: #1 and I went to have dinner at friends' on Friday evening, and look what I found there!

It really was the best! It was warm enough so that, before dinner, we were able to enjoy drinks in the garden, and I got to do some quality roaching:

Da Beebs: We are slowly beginning to put seed out again for the birds and this is a most excellent viewing window!

Did I hear something about this month being 'TockTober?

Genji: Do I look all handsome in this pic or what?!

It's also very manly to enjoy window whiffies with your bro...

...or on one's own:

Happy Monday, Everyone!

Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: It's a foggy morning outside, just perfect for relaxing and snuggling, especially that #1 is home with us today!

Sei-Chan has been relaxing with Tommy:

Here I am, giving him a little kiss:

And a big snuggle too!

And Ms. S in Italy sent us another pic of Sofia giving Tommy a kiss!

Here is #1 giving Vidock a kiss too!

Genji spends his life trying to worm his way into #1's arms...

He also provides ongoing moral support for Tommy (the cone is still on because there is one small area of the scar that remains an issue)

Here is my Beebs with Tommy. You can hear him purring from the other end of the house...

We don't have any new Violette snuggle pics this week but we do have one from the last snuggle shoot that we have not yet shared, so here it is:

Wishing you a very Snuggly Sunday!

SEIturday with a dash of 'TockTober!

Sei-Chan: We are now into October and #1 has sworn that she won't be going anywhere all month! I shall be keeping a close eye on her, just to make sure...

We've had quite a bit if rain this week but I did find one or two nice sunpuddles to lie in:

Now, because I am a little on the chubby side, there may be some misconceptions about my sporting abilities. So this week, I wanted to show that I can leap with the best of them!

Look where #1 found me one evening:

Yes, #1, I am quite comfortable, thank you!

It was fun to explore up there...

And since it's THAT month, here is a 'TockTober shot for you!

PS: After preparing this post, we heard that a dear friend of ours had run off to the Bridge yesterday. Megat was a wonderful Singaporean black kitty from Cat Tales. He had a tough life until he was rescued by San in 2006, when he was already believed to be more than ten years old. He battled lymphoma several years ago and San took care of him amazingly and he survived. Megat was a very brave kitty and we know how much he will be missed by San, Bujang, Ms. Akira and Tanaka-Chan. Run Fast, Fly High and Sing Loud, Megat!

Forever Friday

#1 here. It has been some time since we had a Forever Friday post, commemorating our "Bridge Gang." Last weekend was the anniversary of the loss of our Yuu-Chan three years ago, and so the time seems right.

Yuu-Chan (2009-2010), the last of the three to leave for the Bridge, was only 15 months old when he made the journey. But in the short time that he spent with us, he filled our lives with beauty and joy.

Here he is at two months:

Looking so serious at six months:

Being a fabulous big brother to Da Beebs at nine months:

Hanging with Sei-Chan and Da Beebs at 13 months:

At fifteen months, about a week before he left:

Sen-Chan (2007-2009) was, along with Tommy, one of the "founders" of The Poupounette. He graced our lives for 18 months before he was felled by FeLV (which also killed Yuu-Chan who came from the same unscrupulous breeder).

Sen-Chan and Tommy grew up together and were best friends:

Exceptionally, Sen-Chan was allowed out, and he loved to play with Tommy in the garden!

He was so happy when little Tama-Chan joined the family, and he loved her with all his heart!

The first time I went to visit Sen-Chan's fairy tree after he died, this is what I saw:

Ikkyu (1992-2007) was my first ever pet and so my first cat. He came to me when I lived in Tokyo. Here he is at three months:

Ikkyu loved tulips:

He travelled with me all over the world! Here he is enjoying Air France's business class:

He was famous for his "Kangaroo Ikkyu" sleeping position:

Here he is in his fourteenth year, a year before he left:

He and I had fifteen wonderful years together, and he is the one who taught me how wonderful Abyssinians are!

Yuu-Chan, Sen-Chan and Ikkyu: Forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered with a smile.

Tama-Chan Thursday

Tama-Chan: Hello Dear Friends! You didn't think I was just going to give up my post for this week, did you? I just had to have a little talk with #1 about suitable photos and here we are!

Let me start with this little dangle which shows my little particularity quite well. You do remember, don't you, that I only have three toes on my front right paw?

Not that it has ever stopped me from doing anything...

Actually, #1 has told me that, in Japan, they believe that the most beautiful of things must have something that is not perfect about them, and that is what makes them so beautiful! She says I totally fall in that category. Blush...

Now for a little grooming to enhance that perfection:

Followed by a well-deserved snooze whilst dangling the other paw!

Wednesday Whinnies

#1 here. Today's Wednesday Whinnies will feature some photos from my weekend at the French National Percheron Championships. The weather was very iffy but we managed to stay "in between the raindrops" most of the time.

Here's a bunch of young stallions waiting for the recall in their category:

A little guy dreaming of big things...

A stallion presentation action shot:

English friends with whom I was in Belgium came thinking to maybe buy one mare and ended up buying this pair after driving them!

Mares showing off beautiful shades of grey:

One of the highlights is always the group presentations of mares:

Those girls (with their foals in between them) really can move!

On Saturday evening, there was a dinner with a presentation of horses that were for sale. I was MC for the event and did the commentary in both French and English. It is quite long but if you would like an idea, the video is here.

Tommy Tuesday

Tommy: I know today is usually Tama-Chan's day but, as #1 was away, we are a bit disorganised on the photo front and so we swapped.

We did go to Dr. C's yesterday and she took my stitches out. She says the wound looks good. There is still a little swelling but it should go down and, for now, I am not getting any more medication. I did have to wear the cone yesterday but, today, I have a cool T-Shirt on and #1 is hoping I will be good. She has put some special cream on the area around the wound, where the sticky bandage was, so that it doesn't itch.

Yesterday, after we were done at Dr. C's, we headed over to some friends' for lunch, and I got a whole plate of the absolutely yummiest salmon!

Thanks, Mr. T and Ms. V!
