Manly Monday - The Brothers Three

Tom: When I first came to live with #1, I had a big brother, Sen-Chan, but he went to the Bridge and then I found myself with two sisters. Heavily outnumbered! But now the balance has been more than restored, and I am very happy to have two brothers!

Bibi-Chan is still very little, so I have to be an excellent role model for him. That is what manliness is all about. One of the most important things to teach him, right from the start, is that woofies can be a cat's best friend. Fortunately, he has been a very quick learner. I shared with him my Superman sleeping pose:

and I supervised his initial foray into the main part of the house:

And to thank me for my kindness, #1 took me out for a game of Frisbee!

Yuu-Chan: I also have been showing #1 what a perfect Mancat I am by taking extremely good care of my little brother. In the mornings, # finds us curled up together in the small cat bed next to her pillow:

I have been teaching him how to play with the blinds...

Sorry, #1, about their not surviving...

And I have been working in my spare time on developing my image as the coolest dude around...

Bibi-Chan: #1 tells me that since I am still a baby, I don't have to worry yet about how manly I am. She says just to have a good time and learn my purring lessons well. I can do that! And I have begun to learn how to use the computer too!

Note from #1: Do you notice that the image on the Mac says Sony? Do you remember that my less-than-one-year-old camera had broken down last November and Sony finally repaired it after a lot of foot-shuffling? Well, guess what? It broke again. The exact same problem four months after it was repaired! And the repair work is only guaranteed three months. And what would be the point of having it repaired anyway, now that I know the poor quality of their repair work. So, farewell (or rather Sayonara) Sony. You are a disgrace.

Snuggles on Sunday - All Together Now!

Tama-Chan: Well, dear friends, by now you know that little Bibi-Chan and I have finally been released from the back room. I have been busy reclaiming the house that is mine, and making sure all my subjects have not forgotten who is Queen around here. Bibi has been tearing around like a lunatic getting into everything imaginable. His first "feat" was to jump with both front feet straight into #1's plate of creamy pasta...

Anyway, I am very happy to report that peace reigns in the big house under my benevolent guidance. As I thought would be the case, Yuu-Chan (he was tiny when I "left" and boy is he big now!) has taken over care of Bibi-Chan, including cleaning services and general snuggling. He is the most perfect big brother anyone could hope for:

And if, for some reason, Yuu-Chan is unavailable, I can always count on my Tommy:

Of course, I have been known to enjoy the odd snuggle with Tommy myself...

And I have enjoyed snuggling with #1 during our afternoon naps:

As for Sei-Chan, aside from sending a few half-hearted hisses in Bibi's direction, she has been hanging out with Yuu-Chan:

And she has of course been snuggling with her Tommy!

All in all, the snuggle quotient around here is close to an all-time high!

Have a snuggly Sunday everyone.

SEIturday News: Pipsqueak Alert!

Sei-Chan: Well, where do I start? Remember I was confused last week? Well this week I am almost beyond words... You see, the doors to the back room did finally open, and out came my beloved big sister, Tama-Chan. But she was not alone! Right behind her was this... this.... PIPSQUEAK!

Tama-Chan said he was her boy, and that he is "home-made" and that he and I have the same daddy so he is my half-brother! Can you believe that I have a pipsqueak for a half-brother? I mean just look at him:

Doesn't he look incredibly smug?

Anyway, I suppose that life goes on and I have to tell you that I have been snuggling with #1 a lot these past few days. To her surprise, I have even gone "under-cover" with her at night, which I don't normally do. It's been fun! And then there is always my Tommy who is happy to join me in contemplating life...

In other news, I have been playing one of my favourite games, Hide-Under-Stuff. Yuu-Chan is a pretty good playmate but I am hoping Tama-Chan will play with me again soon.

And I've also been trying out the hammocky thing that hangs from one of our cat trees:

I really love hammocks and I need to check with #1 that we have enough of them for everyone!

In conclusion for today, here is a picture #1 took of me a few days ago. I am lying on my alpaca throw and #1 says my coat is almost too beautiful for words!

I hope you all have a great Saturday. Please come and join us for lots of snuggles tomorrow!

Frootbat Friday (With Flying Ears!)

Yuu-Chan: Since I don't seem to get a whole lot of blog time around here, I asked #1 if I could host today's post. We haven't had a Frootbat post in a little while but fear not, we have been sharpening our ears in preparation!

But first, we want to wish a VERY HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY to our friend MaxDog in South Africa!

Let's start the Frootbattage with my sister Sei-Chan whom #1 caught as she was sleeping yesterday, with just one ear in the sun:

Next up is me, also enjoying a bit of sunshine...

#1 is telling me that I always look so serious in my photos. Maybe I need to practice my smile?

Now of course, some cats just glow and don't even need sunshine. Such is the case with our big sister, Tama-Chan:

As for that little Bibi-Chan, well at this stage he's just plain irresistible, whatever the weather!

And last but not least for this Friday, here is Tommy, with the silkiest ever flying ears!

Have a great Friday everyone!

Thankful Thursday

#1 here. It has been a few days now since the three kittens left and although, Tama-Chan and Bibi-Chan are still in the back room, we have developed a nice new routine which involves lots of play with feather wands and lots of snuggling. I am particularly grateful that, although I miss having four kittens lined up on top of me for afternoon nap-time, I can now enjoy having a mother and son team!

I am also thankful that Tama and Bibi are beginning to have fun playing together!

Tama-Chan eventually gets all tired out and needs a rest:

While Bibi is having a ball playing with Tommy!

I am also grateful that little Hime-Chan and Zange are settling in well with their new forever family. I had mentioned before that Zange is Yuu-Chan's sister. Here she is, getting a little manicure on the big day:

The news thus far is that the two girls are getting along very well, but that the boss is definitely Hime-Chan (aged 3 months...) who is lording it over 9 month-old Zange!

Little Miss Bossy-Boots!!!

Warm and Fuzzy Wednesday

At The Poupounette, we treasure togetherness, which is why we have found it very frustrating lately to still have a divided household. But the good news is that we have a wonderful go-between who spans the main house and back room, and provides comfort and love to all!

Three cheers for our TOMMY!!!

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: So you would think that now the kits are gone, I would have my freedom back? Well, believe it or not, they forgot one (what do you mean they didn't forget him? He is staying on purpose?) and he had the bad idea to get all sniffly and so I am still stuck in the back room until he's all better. NOT FAIR!

To make matters worse, it has been really cold even though the sun is shining and I haven't even been able to get out into the run. I do have a rather fine "Tummy Tuesday" picture from last week, though:

As you can see, the fur on my tummy has been growing back really slowly, as it's been winter. #1 says it should start growing more quickly now.

And here is another picture which I think is one of my all-time favourites:

Rrrrrrowrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...............

So, three of the kits did go off. I didn't see her but Hime-Chan was back for a bit on Sunday as her new family came to pick her up here. Apparentlly, she really liked them right from the start:

So, it seems I am stuck with Bibi-Chan for good... I must say he has been a pretty good boy and I even play with him quite a bit. He is very good at the feather wand, a true son of mine! Here I am waiting for #1 to play with me:

And again:

And the rest of he time, I just contemplate the scene out of the window, dreaming of liberty...
