Tama-Chan Thursday

Rainbow Queen Tama: We are a little late in posting today, for which we apologise. Poor #1 has been preoccupied with a variety of issues. I am happy to say that the heating is back on, and the hot water, but we have received an estimate for expensive additional repairs, which are sort of optional at this stage and will stay optional as they are too expensive. Anyway, here I am with a full set of pictures from 2017. That year was the last of what we call the Golden Years, a trouble-free and healthy time for all of us. I had some issues but they were well addressed and did not cause me any long term grief. So, here goes!

January:

As you can see in this first photo, I took a liking to my carrier early on! I would go and sit in it every time it came out, even if I wasn't the one going to the vet.

Time was spent courting sunpuddles:

I would occasionally consent to resting in proximity to my son, Bibi:

And then came my first "big vet" visit because I had started coughing:

February:

I started working seriously on my dangling.

And when out for a bit of fresh air when the weather permitted:

Snuggles with Mr. G were always welcome!

March:

As the first round of treatments had not yielded the results we wanted, I went back to VetRef, the referral clinic, for extensive tests. It was determined I had some allergy and was put on prednisone for the rest of my life. Dr. C later said that I was the only cat she had ever come across who tolerated long-term prednisone use with no ill-effects!

I resumed my pleasant life and occupations:

The weather started to improve.

And I always helped #1 after her shower every morning.

April:

Spring had sprung and the cat run became a favourite place to be!

May:

Back in those days, I also enjoyed the sky hammock in the study:

And I would supervise #1 as she worked up there:

June:

#1 was gone to Japan for several weeks from late May to mid-June, but we somehow managed without her and were delighted when she came back!

July:

July was a lazy month, with plenty of window whiffies.

Here I am snoozing in the sun with my son, Bibi:

August:

My birthday month! I turned nine years old, and all was well with my world!

September:

Mid-month, #1 made a trip to England and came back with lots of goodies.

I became friendlier with the little blue boy, Genji. Like Momo who followed him years later, he was a gentle soul and I didn't mind being close to him.

October:

And then autumn came with its gorgeous light.

Lots of brushies from #1.

Lovely naps.

Snuggles with #1.

There was a little beddie nook on the landing and I enjoyed spending time there.

November:

#1 went off to Japan again and we had house-sitters who turned out to be a nightmare and upped and left after a few days because it was too "hard" to clean litterboxes. That is when Mr. G started looking after us, and we never looked back.

December:

And before we knew it, it was December and the end of another year. Little did we guess the hardships and sadness the following year would bring.

And that was 2017 for me. As she looked through the photos from that year, #1 felt such nostalgia for times gone by. I wished I could be there to snuggle up to her again.

  2. Memories can be so very powerful. We are happy that your heat and hot water are back but it's sad that everything has to be unaffordable these days.

  3. #1 undoubtedly misses having you right there where she can brush you and fit you even though she knows you're watching over her. We love knowing when you started the dangles. And aren't you a brave Kitty to get in your cat carrier just for the fun of it. Someone here sees hers and she goes running the other way, lol.

  4. So many beautiful memories of you Queen Tama. I hope the house sitters who just upped and left you all were stopped from ever doing it again.
I am glad you got your heating and hot water working again. Quotes for further repairs are always ridiculously expensive.
