Friday Fun With #1


#1 here. As threatened yesterday. I thought I would share a few photos from my trip to England these past few days. I helped out at a big heavy horse event called the New Forest Beer Run, which happened in the actual New Forest in Hampshire.

On the first day of the actual "run" I got to do one of the stages of the road race with some friends who own Shires, so a change from Percherons! It is simply lovely to ride through the New Forest, both open moorland and actual wooded areas, in a horse-drawn vehicle:




Following that, there was a rather fun Shire selfie!


The two Shires on the left, two girls called Willow and Fern, are driven by a young man who is only 21 and one of the best (horse) drivers  I have met:

  6. That does look like fun. A long time ago, our Mom got to ride in some horse drawn carriages and it is most enjoyable.
