Violette: Pretty neighs everyone! I hope you are all well and enjoying life. I am! I was thrilled to get my very first mani-pedi yesterday! #1 was a little bit miffed because the farrier did it when she wasn't there, so she couldn't take photos. But here are a couple of my feet afterwards!
By the way, I got an entire apple cut into slices after it was all over! #1 said it was quite funny to watch me walk as I was a bit wobbly. The farrier trimmed my front left hoof in particular to give me a straighter gait. The way my hoof grows had made me a little pigeon-toed...
Now aside from the fact that I was extremely well-behaved for a first-timer, the farrier also commented that I was a very lucky girl because I have excellent hoof quality!
Oh and I have one more piece of news! Guess who came to visit me this week? Young Fernant! Here I am playing hide and seek with him:
Vidock: Neighs everyone and greetings from your favourite stud! It seems that one thing I share with pretty Violette is that I too have excellent hoof quality. Whereas my two brothers in the field both have various cracks in their hooves, I am a regular old twinkletoes!
Let me show you what I mean. Here we have a brotherly hoof, looking a little cracked due to the very wet followed by very dry weather:
And here we have a Super-Vidock hoof:
Anyway, we are all scheduled to see the farrier again very soon for our regular trims. I am just lucky that nature has blessed me with the good stuff, just like people who have really strong nails.
Oh and just in case you were missing my handsome face...
Have a great Friday everyone!
Miss Violette, you have such dainty hooves!
ReplyDeleteThose are some fabulous footies! I was not blessed with excellent nails. But I also happen to have a wonderful farrier! hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, everyChan!
Yay for good hoof quality! We do not like having our nails trimmed very much but will tolerate it for lots of string cheese. Did you get any treats for having your feet trimmed?
ReplyDeleteYour friends,

Oh MY! Dainty Violette hooves and strong manly hooves from you, Vidock. And such perfect hooves on both of you too. You are indeed both blessed. And I learned something..I never knew how hooves were trimmed would affect the gait.

You were both very good to just stand still while your hoofies were done. We have never had a pawdicure and for some reason Mum says if we want one our vet will be happy to oblige - we don't think our claws need doing now we've heard that!
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Doesn't the farrier know that you have a blog and that everything must be photographed to share with the rest of the world? ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou two do have good looking toes.
Cindy
We just love you two! Naturally we know all about kittehs, but learning about horses is FUN! And here we thought maybe you had GIANT scratching posts...
ReplyDelete{{hugs}} to #1. Mommy says people are sometimes mean and best avoided.
My human is envious of your gorgeous hooves! She is one of those humans who have always had weak nails and manicures never last more than a day before something breaks.
ReplyDeleteWe think you both have very interesting feets!
ReplyDeleteYour feets are beautiful, then an apple!!!

Violette, it makes our hearts so happy that you are getting the best of care and thriving. Vidock, those are sum handsum hoofs! Does a little mani/pedi make you romp through the fields? We think it would!
