Strictly SEIturday

Sei-Chan: What a relief that #1 made it possible for me to have my post today. I must say I was a bit worried that I would once again fall victim to circumstances and my precious weekly post would be hi-jacked. Phew!

Anyway, guess what? We heard from #1 and the big show she went to was cancelled! The weather had already been very rainy on Thursday afternoon but the winds on Friday morning were very worrying. She was at the show at 7am, helping get ready for the Percheron in-hand classes when they announced at 8am that they were cancelling. This show has been going for 181 years and this was the very first time that they had to cancel due to catastrophic weather. A huge disappointment all around but #1 had a good time anyway!

As you know, I was very busy earlier this week when I helped the others with "The Hunt":

That Bibi Boy would love you to think that he did it all on his own but the Hunt was a real team effort!

Since #1 left, I have been spending time thinking about her return and crossing my paws that she will be back very soon!

It's a lot of work you know, and I inevitably start to feel a tiny bit sleepy...

And what must happen happens!

I'll leave you with a few pics #1 took behind the scenes yesterday, after the show was cancelled:

  2. Good that you got your post - and you have certainly been working very hard.
Many commiserations to #1 for the show being cancelled. We would say 'typical British weather' but if this is the first time in nearly two hundred years, then it's not typical! We hope #1 stayed dry, and now she is heading back (we hope) you get LOADS of treats.

  3. We love the horse with the matching rain cape and boots - how smart it that! What a shame that the show was cancelled yesterday but think it was for the best the winds and rain were the so severe.
It is still quite windy today but it is like a summer breeze compared to Friday.

  4. The horse with the wellies got our attention. The owners/handlers probably were glad they did that in the inclement weather.
You are as charming as ever. Don't worry #1 will come home really soon!

  7. Hopefully #1 is winding her way back to you. We can't imagine they cancelled something that hadn't been cancelled in 181 yrs! It must have been terrible weather!

  9. Well, that sure is a big bummer for #1. But at least it seems she still managed to enjoy herself. We can't wait to see all the goodies she brings home for all of you.

  14. What a shame it was canceled! Think of all the time, energy and money, then not being able to show. That's too bad.
