Wishful Wednesday With Ben

Ebène (aka Ben): Little Neighs, Everyone! Ben here! The Apple lady said that there had been so many questions after my photo on the Manly Monday post that we should have a post just about me. Thank you, Apple Lady, and thank you all for caring about me!

So, my name is Ebène, which means Ebony as I am all black, Ebène de l'Aumone. I am about eight months old. My daddy is a famous champion stallion called Titus de Vanoise, and my mama is a lady called Hôtesse de l'Aumone. But I think that most of you know best my half-sister, Violette de l'Aumone!

The Apple lady first saw me in the field where Violette used to live when she originally met her, in the first part of January. She immediately called my breeder because she knew him from the Violette days and she also knew he wasn't always great at paying attention to his horses and finding good homes for them. You know what? She guessed who my daddy was just by looking at me! Apparently, I look like him a lot.

Me:

Daddy:

Mama:
(Violette's Mama too!)

At the beginning, I was a little bit shy but the Apple Lady told me about apples and let me have a taste. They are so yummy. So now, I go up to her every time I see her and she gives me apples and scritches.

That's really nice, but you all know how it is. We all need to find a Forever Home, and the younger the better. Sadly, the Apple lady simply doesn't have the means to take on another large horse, but she swore she would find me a home. You see, one of the sisters between me and Violette came to a sad end because they could not find her a home, and she swore that would never happen to me. And I have been wishing very hard that I would find a Forever Home. AND I HAVE!!!

So, guess what I am going to be when I grow up?

I am going to be the Percheron equivalent of a Budweiser Clydesdale! The nice brewery gentleman who owns this place saw my photo on FB and even though he barely speaks English, he telephoned the Apple lady and said he really wanted to buy me because I am so handsome! Isn't that the coolest?

So, in another couple of months, I will be leaving my birth family behind and moving to Bavaria, in Germany!

Little Neighs from your friend Ben who will one day be a Big Bad Brewery Horse!

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: We have been looking at photos friends of ours have posted in the Maririmes, in Canada, and we know that snowfalls have been bad in the States too. So, we have officially stopped complaining about our lack of sunpuddles. Stay warm, dear friends!

I have been helping #1 with her work:

As you can see, I am generous and leave her plenty of room on the office chair.

And then it is hammock nap time:

I also have this rather interesting photo of me trying to command #1 to get the treats out and handed over asap. I am happy to report it worked like a charm!

As you can see, Sei-Chan was keeping her head down and simply waiting for the spoils...

#1 has been so busy lately (so what's new?) that she has slacked a little in taking photos. So, I thought I would also do what all the others have done and share a couple of baby photos. Let me tell you, my baby photos are something else!

I was just under seven weeks old when #1 took those. You can see my special toes in the second one.

Manly Monday

Vidock: Studly Neighs, EveryFriend! I hear from #1 that some of you are almost buried under masses of snow again. Please stay safe. We have a lot of mud at this end, but that's about it...

As you know, we always look forward to visits from #1:

Sometimes, in addition to bringing apples and carrots, she will tell a really good joke!

She just cracks me up, that #1!

Tommaso: First of all, I wanted to let you know that I am basically done with the antibiotics and I am feeling just fine!

I have been hanging out with my bro, Da Beebs. We shared some snuggle pics from that shoot yesterday. Here is another one:

Da Beebs:  Oh I DO Love napping this time of year!

Occasionally, I will even do so within whapping distance of you know-who...

Genji: I bet you can't se me in this photo:

A lot of the time, I like to nap on my blue Peggy's Blankie:

Wishing you all a great start to the week!

Pssssttttt... My name is Ebène (just call me "Ben"). Is it OK if I post a picture of myself? I am only 8 months old but I will be super-manly one day!

Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: Yesterday being Valentine's Day and all that, we have been snuggling even more than usual!

Let me start today with my Beebs and Tommy. You see, my Beebs first met Tommy when he was 8 weeks old and I explained to him that Tommy would be his best friend ever. Back then, he used to listen to what I said and friends forever they became! This photo was taken almost five years ago:

And these next two photos were taken yesterday evening:

Of course, I was Tommy's original best friend forever and I know I still hold a very special place in his heart:

Then there is the #1 and Beebs story. He earmarked her for life when he had barely opened his eyes, and this is them now:

Of course Genji was already more than three months old when he arrived here but that didn't stop him, did it?

And then there is Sei-Chan. She vows an absolute passion for Tommy!

I think we can say without a shadow of a doubt that both #1 and Tommy got plenty of love on Valentine's Day!

Not a great week, however for pics of the Vs.  The one selfie #1 got with Violette isn't up to the usual standard:

But here is a sweet one of little Ebony about to give his Mama, Hôtesse, a kiss:

And I think that is all we have for you this week!

SEIturday

Sei-Chan: May I start by wishing all of you a Hapy Valentine's Day, most particularly a certain Maui... (blush).

It's been a quiet week at this end, which is how we like them. I decided to try out the red blankie on Tommy's spare bed:

Bu that does not mean that I have been slacking in my supervisory duties. #1 has had a busy work week, and I have been helping:

A lot!!!

And now I think I shall repair to my nice cozy beddie under the skylight. Have a great weekend, everyone!

PS: Our neighbour Basha would like to wish a Happy Valentine's Day to his lovely Loustiquette, and send her a photo of himself as a kitten:

Violette's Family Friday - Part 2

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Dear Friends. We  had some lovely weather the last few days and the sun felt so good on one's back!

I do hope you don't find it too boring  if I feature my family once again? It is so nice to get regular news, you know. Let me start with my beautiful Mama:

I know, I know. She is looking so much cleaner than me... Maybe because she is an older lady and she is more careful about her appearance? Anyway, #1 had promised to come and give me brushies today but it's raining so we'll have to wait until it's dry gain.

She has now made good friends with my little brother, Ebène (Ebony) whom I am calling "Ben" for short.

#1 says he has the sweetest face!

We mentioned last Sunday that #1 had also been to see one of my sisters. She is almost two years old, and she is very pretty!

She is grey, like me, although she will stay darker much longer than I did.

#1 did also tell me that I was the prettiest of them all...

Tommy's Thankful Thursday

Tommy: First of all, a BIG THANK YOU from me to all of you, my Dear Friends, Woofies, Kitties and Humans, who were so kind and supportive in your comments on yesterday's blog post. I AM FINE! When Dr. C managed to open my jaw wide (and, believe me, it's not an easy thing to do), she found that I had a piece of wood lodged in my palate, right in the roof of the mouth. Here it is:

Dr. C's comment was that it was absolutely typical of me to be so different. She said she knew no other woofie who would have even tolerated that thing without constantly pawing at his mouth. She said it was absolutely amazing that I ate and drank normally, and also played normally, and that the only thing that was different was the smell as the wood became infected. She was able to remove the piece pretty quickly, and I am now on special mouth-targeted antibiotics for six days. She also told #1 to give me only soft food for 48 hours, so this is what I got for dinner:

Pureed chicken with carrots and rice. It was YUMMY! She says that for this evening, she has my absolute favourite for me, fish!

I don't mind going to Dr. C's at all as she is always very nice to me, and it was a great opportunity for some playtime with Sabba, Dr. C's seven-month old Dobie girl who is becoming a great friend.

#1 says that I haven't stopped smiling since that piece of wood came out:
