Frootbat and Floppy Ears Friday

Da Beebs: It's Friday already and next Thursday, #1 is abandoning us for almost 5 weeks. It's a wonder we don't all already have droopy ears from prospective sadness. Still, we must be strong and prepare ourselves to give a good time to the nice lady from New Zealand who is coming to look after us. So here are a few Frootbats for you:

Me first, supervising #1's desk:

Mama Tama doing SleepyBats!

Sei-Chan doing SternBats!

And Genji presenting SideBats!

Now it's pretty much impossible to do flying ears whilst wearing a cone of shame, so this week, we will have "Floppy Ears" instead, taken on one of the rare no-cone moments:

By the way, Tommy managed to get one of the scabs off his wound, even whilst wearing the cone, so now he is wearing both the cone and a T-Shirt!

Thankful Thursday?

Tom: #1 is keeping all of her fingers crossed (making it difficult to type) that the improvement seen in my abscess wounds continues today, for which we would be very thankful indeed. You see, I was a very naughty boy on Tuesday and tore at my bandages and licked at my wounds and just made a total mess. So, I have been back on the collar of shame almost 24/7 and things are beginning to improve (BTW, Dr. C lent #1 one of those "doughnut" thingies but it didn't stop me...).

I am doing pretty well, despite the cone:

We are thankful that the baby squirrels seem to be doing well:

And #1 is very thankful to her friend Ms. H who made these wonderful bracelets for her! The one on the left is made with Vidock's (tail) hair and the one on the right with Violette's tail hair! Aren't they grand?

Wednesday Whinnies

Vidock: Studly Neighs, Everyone! How are you all doing? Is it properly summer where you are? Because here, we've had a lot more rain, and are expecting thunderboomies and hail this afternoon... Anyway, my life of leisure continues and, in this light, I have decided that it is time to learn how to get truly comfortable...

When you have a good seat, you might as well use it, right?

I need to crane my neck up a bit to get a good luck at the girls in the next field...

And when I'm all done, there's nothing like a good roll in the soft grass!

And a little taste of some succulent leaves!

Our special thanks to Ms. N for taking these great photos!

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Dear Friends! I hardly need to tell you that a girl always needs to look good. Now that I am wearing a bridle on a regular basis, it became clear that I needed a visit from the hairdresser to adjust my mane where the bridle sits. Ms. C very kindly obliged:

That feels so much better! Oh, and I almost forgot the most important thing! We went for that very first ride out in the countryside with #1 on my back! Look at the view she had:

I was good as gold and #1 was so proud of me!

Don't we look like real pros?

I got an extra yummy treat bucket afterwards!

Tama's Tommy Tuesday

Tama-Chan: Yes, today is normally my day to blog, but I know that many of you will want to know how things went for our Tommy at the vet's yesterday, so I wanted to give you an update. It turns out that Tommy does indeed have an abscess. He is now on antibiotics for at least one week and we are crossing our paws that this will clear things up completeley. If it doesn't, then Dr. C will have to go in there and get it out. There is a follow-up appointment booked for next Tuesday morning. #1 is concerned because she is abandoning us and going off to Canada on Thursday of next week and she would really like Tommy to be all better by then. So, we could use some help in the purrs and crossed paws category.

Here he is at Dr. C's office, with Genji in the carrier (Genji is perfect and utterly fabulous according to Dr. C and he did well after his shots):

Dr. C was adamant that Tommy must NOT lick his wound, so he will be wearing the dreaded collar at night. To give him relief when he is within eyesight of #1 during the day, she is bandaging up his midriff, like so:

We will of course all be supervising him too!

I am also still supervising #1's work (oops that looks more like blogging and FB...):

And generally looking regal:

But I do manage to find a moment here and there to relax...

Manly Monday

Bibi-Chan: As #1 helps us put together our post for today, we are sitting in the midst of a big thunderstorm, complete with hail  and strong winds. Nothing like the tornadoes that some of our American friends have faced lately but impressive for us. So, this is probably going to end up being a fairly Sleepy Monday...

I started as I mean to go on by complaining loudly when #1 raised the duvet cover...

But I eventually decided to get up so I could help #1 with this post:

Genji: Could you spare a purr for me, please? I am going off to Dr. C's this afternoon for my shots. Last year, I was out of it for about 24 hours when I got my shots so, this year, I am getting a special little something to help me with it.

Just in case I'm a little tired, though, I spent a lot of time playing this weekend:

Tom: I shall be going along to Dr. C's as well. I always do anyway, but #1 wants Dr. C to have a look at my wound as she suspects it may be an abcess. The good news is that I am not licking it anymore, so no more cone!

Here is a pic from yesterday morning:

And one from Saturday. When we went to Ms. V and Mr. T's, they had two young guests who played ball with me!

Vidock: Ms. N has been spending a lot of time taking photos of. I quite like this one:

And #1 took this close-up yesterday after I had eaten my apples and carrots. I think it's very manly to have bits of apples and carrot on your nose, don't you?

Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: For some reason, this has been a week with a lot of snuggling with #1. Perhaps it had something to do with Tommy wearing that dreaded cone...

Is anybody home?????

I think I can hear something, says Bibi...

I have spent a lot of time sharing #1's desk chair:

And helping #1 with her work:

When I had to be elsewhere, Sei-Chan took over for me:

As did my Bibi:

Here I am, giving Sei-Chan a bit of a bath:

Genji of course is always ready to snuggle with #1...

Bibi has been snuggling with #1 a lot in the evenings as she watches TV:

And even Sei-Chan has been snuggling with her in bed!

In one of his coneless moments, Tommy got a big cuddle from our friend Ms. V whom he and #1 were visiting for lunch:

And our Violette is always ready for a big snuggle with #1!

No snuggle shots of Vidock this week but we promise we'll try top make up for that next week.

Have yourselves a very Snuggly Sunday!

SEIturday!

Sei-Chan: #1 has been very busy with her various cameras this week, photographing me! So, now I need to make a selection as to what I am actually going to use. Decisions, decisions...

Blogging is hard work!

As is helping #1 with her work in general. I have been doing a lot of that recently:

Doing quality control on what she produces:

I have simultaneously been crossing my paws that it stays sunny and gets a bit warmer:

Gotta tell you, though, squirrel TV has been totally awesome! Just look at this little whippersnapper!

And this one!

We have simply been glued to the programming all day!

No wonder I end up falling asleep on the job!

Wishing you all a great weekend!
