Tama-Chan: Yes, today is normally my day to blog, but I know that many of you will want to know how things went for our Tommy at the vet's yesterday, so I wanted to give you an update. It turns out that Tommy does indeed have an abscess. He is now on antibiotics for at least one week and we are crossing our paws that this will clear things up completeley. If it doesn't, then Dr. C will have to go in there and get it out. There is a follow-up appointment booked for next Tuesday morning. #1 is concerned because she is abandoning us and going off to Canada on Thursday of next week and she would really like Tommy to be all better by then. So, we could use some help in the purrs and crossed paws category.
Here he is at Dr. C's office, with Genji in the carrier (Genji is perfect and utterly fabulous according to Dr. C and he did well after his shots):
Dr. C was adamant that Tommy must NOT lick his wound, so he will be wearing the dreaded collar at night. To give him relief when he is within eyesight of #1 during the day, she is bandaging up his midriff, like so:
We will of course all be supervising him too!
I am also still supervising #1's work (oops that looks more like blogging and FB...):
And generally looking regal:
But I do manage to find a moment here and there to relax...
I have got my front and back paws crossed for Tommy, and sending lots of purrs for the antibiotics to work so he is all better by the time #1 goes to Canada.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely photo of you looking regal, but of course it is good that you have time to relax too.
Awwww- poor Tommy! I sympathize big time. I remember having that cone on and ooooh- *shudders*
ReplyDeleteGet well soon pal.
Poor Tommy ! Get well soon ! Loupi and Zorro
ReplyDeleteTommy my paws are absolutely crossed for you. I want you all better as soon as possible. Tama, tell #1 that my mom likes those Bel Vita chocolate crackers as well. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHoping Tommy is feeling better soon. Poor guy, "the cone of shame" is nooooooooo fun!
ReplyDeleteWe've crossed our paws that Tommy's ouchie is better before #1 deserts you. Oh dear Tommy no licking, being made to wear a cone, and bandages - we will purr for you.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
We have our paws crossed for a speedy recovery for Tommy.

ReplyDeletePoor Tommy - we hope you heal up quick without them having to do anything else...we know #1 would be worried sick about being away :)
And glad Genji did well too!
Tama tu as un air royal... et pas du tout le même genre de profil que Genji ou Hisia.
ReplyDeleteOn croise les doigts et les coussinets pour Tommy. Il va guérir vite ! Courage.

Poor Tommy. I hope he feels better soon. You, of course, are looking wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling, Tommy, but was hoping I was wrong. Bugger.
ReplyDeleteOh, and that would be the week that I WAS to meet #1 in PEI... but those plans were changed. Bugger again. I do hope #1 has a magnificent time and of course, that you heal up nicely before her scheduled departure.
I am sending lots of healing purrs so that nasty abscess heals up fast!
ReplyDeleteWe're really purring for Tommy's abscess to heal quickly.
ReplyDeleteSweet Tommy I am purring loudly that the antibiotics work before # goes away. I know she must be very worried indeed. Everything crossed sweety.. Hugs GJ x
ReplyDeleteWe sure hope those antibiotics will take care of that abscess. We know that #1 would never leave Tommy unless she felt very confident that she was leaving Tommy in good hands. All paws crossed for things to go well.

ReplyDeleteHee, hee! Blogging and FB ARE work too! And Tommy, I really feel your pain. I was almost out of my collar when the mom took it off. Then I couldn't help myself and now I'm starting all over again. I hope your abscess clears up before #1 leaves, for everyone's peace of mind.

Thank you for the updates, dear Tama.
ReplyDeleteTell Tommy we are praying for him and sending all of our love his way. It is upsetting that our dearest dog is not well.
We are glad to hear from Dr. C. that Genji is perfect and utterly fabulous. But we knew that since he was a bitty kitty! We are thrilled to know he did well with his shots.
All of our love to all of you.
I am very glad you are so super healthy, Tama! Now I hope those special medicines will take care of poor Tommy's abscess right away so he can get rid of that e-collar and no surgeries too!
