Thankful Thursday

 

Benny: We haven't yet managed to get back on a regular blogging schedule and, believe it or not, #1 is gong to be away again this weekend, volunteering at the World Pony Driving Championships, being held at Haras du Pin, which is not that far from here. We'll try to get back into the swing of things properly next week. In the meantime, we wanted to say once again, how thankful we are to have her back and to be all together again!

It is so good to be together again, and we are thankful!

PS: We are also very thankful that our friend Mr. R, Tommy's breeder, finally got to go home yesterday after spending months in a convalescence centre following a bad bout of Covid.

Tama-Chan Tuesday

 

Tama-Chan: I only have a short post for you this week, Dear Friends. #1 isn't yet properly back to photo-taking mode and we've had few sunpuddles these past few days. I have been sticking very close to her, and making sure I get lots of attention and cuddles!

It's so wonderful to have her back!

Manly Monday

 Ollie: I am loving having my #1 home gain, and also being with Benny who is my best pal. #1 says that we make quite a pair, getting up to all kinds of trouble together! I also go regularly to see Noelle and our daughter Lily. That Lily is something else, and is full into her "shark" mode, if you know what I mean. I am proud to say, however, that she has excellent flying ears!

I also met up with my pal, Buddy, which was fun!

Vidock: When you live with several gorgeous girls, you have to keep them interested by rolling in the mud and waving your hoofs in the air!

Benny: #1 brought me this fishie from Japan!

I really like it!

Snuggles on Sunday

 

Tama-Chan: Dear Friends, I cannot remember when was the last time we did an SoS post, but it is wonderful to be back. We are just getting into the swing of things so we don't have a full roll call today, but we are on our way.

Needless to say, I have been snuggling with #1!

Ollie and Benny have been indulging in morning bedtime snuggles with #1:

And #1 got some fun snuggle pics with The Big V and Miss Heloise (we'll have shots of Violette and Mama Hotesse next week. Promise!).

We are all so happy to be back snuggling with #1!

V&H Vendredi

 Vidock: #1 came to see us! She was away for such a long time that we were beginning to lose hope. And Ms. C put me and my two girls, Aral and Heloise, in a field a little way way from the others, and Heloise and I were worried that she might not find us. But she did! #1 did not disappoint. She brought lots of carrots and apples!

Violette: Mama Hotesse and I also got our share of apples and carrots!

Tama-Chan: She's Back! SHE'S BACK! Our #1 is back from being away in Japan all those months!

All is right with our world again. But our big thanks to Mr. G and Ms. M for looking after us so well

#1 has a lot of unpacking and putting away to do, and the house is a mess and needs a big clean, but this afternoon, she is off to see the Vs and Hs, and of course Miss Lily. We will plan to return to blogging on Friday. Thanks for not forgetting all about us!

FAREWELL TO FERNANT

#1 here. I have been so busy that I have not been able to post since Tommy's commemorative post on August 21st. It is therefore ironic that this post will be about our beloved friend and neighbour, and Tommy's best friend, Fernant, running off to the Bridge. I got a message a couple of days ago from his family. He became very ill during he summer and it turned out he had both liver and kidney failure. He went from fine to almost unable to move in a very short time, and his loving family helped him to the Bridge. He was 10 years old. Over the years, he stayed with us so many times that he was an integral part of the Poupounette family.

For those who don't know his story, Fernant came from a famous Lab breeder in western France and was brought in to a vet at 3 months to be put down because had kennel cough. By the time he recovered, he would no longer be a cute, small puppy, and the breeder decided to have him killed. The vet said yes but did not, and he ended up being adopted by my neighbours. So, even though he died young, he had almost ten years of life that he would never have had otherwise. He was a wonderful friend to both Tommy and Ollie, as well as the cats who all loved him. His nickname, of course, was "Mad Fernant." He will be sorely missed by everyone at The Poupounette. Here are some photos of his life and many times with us:
