Manly Monday

Tommy: Well, #1 being "under the weather" means that my walks continue to be curtailed but that doesn't matter. If she's in bed, I just snooze by her side. She did take this rather manly and (she says) very beautiful portrait of me a few days ago:

Vidock: Of course, I call it studly, but it's pretty much the same thing...

You may kiss:

Da Genj: I am very busy with nursing duties at the moment. Here is a nice shot that #1 snagged a few days ago:

Da Beebs:How about this for a manly sunpuddle shot?

Da Trav: #1 says she loves the way I am also there when she brings my supper and tuck in with such pleasure. I have been making soft eyes at her to say thank you.

Wishing you all a great week. We are going to be taking it a bit easy until #1 feels better.

Snuggles on Sunday (truncated version)

Tama-Chan: We are late with our SoS post today, Dear Friends. This is because (a) our scribe went  out partying late at a friend's 18th birthday party and (b) she now has a cold and is feeling sorry for herself. We will be nursing her over the next few days but will insist she continues to take care of our blog posts because we know it will make her feel better.

It has been another busy week and so the post will probably have a few absences, but I, for a start, was snugging away as usual:

And my Beebs also enjoyed some birthday snuggles with Tommy:

For some reason, though, Sei-Chan and Da Genj are MIA this week. The Vs, however were all snuggles with #1:

Oh, and in other news, we finally got our Christmas tree!

Remember, Sunday is for snuggling!

SEIturday

Sei-Chan: Can you believe, Dear Friends, that we had to wait until yesterday to get those promised sunpuddles? And #1 was out almost all day and couldn't ake any photos, so we were left with this:

I call that my "looking for sunpuddles" shot.

As you can imagine, it was a long and tiring job...

Let's see what the sunpuddle count will be next week. In the meantime, have a lovely SEIturday!

BEEBSDAY CELEBRATIONS!

#1 here. December 4th is a very special day here at Poupounette Central because it is the day that our sweet Tama-Chan gave birth to a litter of four kittens, including our very own Da Beebs! Christmas 2009 was a very special time, with tiny kittens under Mama-Tama's special care in the back room over the festive season. Here they are at 1 day old. Tama-Chan's tummy is shaved because she had to have a caesarian:

And here at two weeks old:

Here is Da Beebs at three weeks old:

And at one month old. He is the one who is on the left, wearing the orange collar!

Here is the grown-up scrum at 2 months. Da Beebs is again on the left:

Once Da Beebs moved to the main part of the house from the kittening room, his best buddy was Yuu-Chan:

Our Beebs has grown big and strong. He is the most vocal of the Chans and also has the loudest purr. He is definitely my boy and I can do things with him in terms of handling that I can't do with any of the others. Perhaps because he has always lived here, he is also the most protective of his house, thus explaining the "trouble" since Trav appeared (which has abated quite a bit). Beebs loves to be fussed over, and to be given treats. He is not a huge game player but likes a good wrestle with Genji. His Mama Tama never took kindly to him staying here after the other kittens left and mostly hisses at him. He does get on quite well with Sei-Chan who is his half-sister (same daddy). He is of course an extremely handsome boy, with very long legs and a truly regal bearing, and of course those amazing eyes!

We therefore invite you all to join us, in celebration of his sixth birthday, in a rousing chorus of

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BEEBS!

Tommy's Treat-Thievin' Thursday

Tommy: Let me start by saying that I have always been known as a very, VERY good boy. I don't beg at tables or pester people for treats, and I never try to steal anyone else's food. But, once in a blue moon, circumstances beyond one's control do occur. Let me set the scene for you: we all have a treat time last thing at night, before going to bed. The Chans line up at their designated spot in #1's bedroom and, once they are done, I get a special treat too. These vary according to what #1 has bought and what she has opened. At the moment, we have lots of unusual treats here because she sent so many in her shipment from Canada. So, she had opened this packet of Crumps' Naturals Beef Tendersticks and I thought they were really yummy. Now she usually then puts the packet on the shelf on the landing. Enter my bro, Beebsy Boy, and a quick consultation before he slid the packet down and I.... ate them all!!!!!!

This is what #1 discovered:

But I do have a pretty nice #1 so the first thing she did was to see about ordering me some. She found them on amazon.com for $14.97 for an 8-ounce bag. She thought she would check to see if they were available on amazon.fr. They were, for about $45 the packet! Generous as she is, she found that a bit steep. And amazon.com refuses to ship them to us in France. so, she has asked our friend Ms. P in Texas if she can have them sent to her and then sent on to us.

In the meantime, I will have to make do with "home-grown" treats. Kitty friends, I think you will be grossed out, but these are shavings from the V's hooves from when the farrier came. They are incredibly yummy too, and they are free! The best (most tender) ones are shaved from the horse's "frog" which is in the middle of the hoof.

Oh, and here is a pic of me:

Wednesday Whinnies

Violette: Yesterday was pedi-day at our place. The farrier arrived at 9am and was there all morning. He always starts with Vidock because he gets shoes on all four feet whereas I only get them on my front feet, so he takes longer. Aside from getting new shoes, it's always nice to spend the time with #1 and sometimes even Tommy. Here is a picture of me inside with the farrier, and Tommy supervising:

Our farrier is a very nice guy and he kept telling #1 what beautiful feet I have!

Here is a romantic pic of me that #1 took. There was a bit of sun to give it that little extra something:

Vidock: # 1had to get up earlier than usual to be there for the farrier but who wouldn't want to see this face first thing in the morning?

She says I look as though I am planning some mischief in this one. Can you believe that? Mischief? Moi?

I really am a very good boy, and the farrier said so!

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: We haven't really seen anything of the promised sunpuddles yet but we are coping as best we can in our nice warm house.

Our Japanese guests had a lot of luggage so she asked #1 if she had any boxes. #1 produced a selection and I took advantage of it!

Sadly, that very box is now on its way to Japan.

I am siting on the cat tree in the kitchen , waiting for those sunpuddles...
