Manly Monday

Tom: I was going to share with you the photos of me logging with #1 but little Sei-Chan appropriated that on her post on SEIturday! So, what am I going to share with you then for Manly Monday?

Well, here is a rather fetching portrait for a start:

And another!

And this one is fun and very manly!

Da Beebs: So, here is a photo of me trying to eat my breakfast. As you can see, my Mama Tama is supervising closely to make sure I eat properly (I am an infamous fusspot), but can you see what is lurking below me, those giant "blue" paws? What I need to deal with day in, day out, when I am trying to eat?

Right, I need to get back to my beauty sleep…

Genji: Did you see that my big sister Tama-Chan said I looked scary in my photo yesterday? Can you believe it? Me? Scary?????

And then, there is Da Beebs, hinting that I might be trying to steal his food. Can you believe THAT?

Vidock: Studly Neighs, EveryFriend! I got bored midweek, waiting for Mr. E, so I neighed him a message!

And when he came, on Saturday, I showed him how happy I was to see him!

This time, he climbed on that big tire!

And I took him around at quite a clip! They say I'm incredibly strong, even for a Percheron!

Have a great week, everyone!

Certain Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: Sunday Greetings, Dear Friends! This post always tends to be a bit of a dangle, I mean gamble, as we never know what photos we will have each week. We always try to use photos only from the previous week, and not all of us cooperate all of the time. As you may remember, I am particularly known for being shy, even though I am your hostess week in, week out. So, all this to tell you that there will be no photos of me this week. We even though there would be no photos of that tart, Genji, but he agreed to pose with #1 at the very last minute, although methinks he looks a bit scary in this shot, don't you?

Ah well, we do have Sei-Chan to the rescue. Here she is, keeping a firm paw on #1 as they watch something together on TV:

And here, of course, is the traditional picture of her snuggling with Tommy!

As for my Beebs, #1 managed to snag a pic of him snuggling under the covers with her!

Where we have a real bonanza this week is pictures of the Vs. As Ms. S and Mr. E went over again yesterday to work The Big V and put a lost shoe back on Violette, #1 was able to ask Ms. S to take some photos!

But first, here is a selfie she took of herself with Violette!

Plus one that Ms. S took!

As for Vidock, here are a couple of pics of #1 giving him his treat bucker after his session of very hard work yesterday:

#1 has abandoned us today and gone off to Paree to have lunch with her cousins and go to some dance recital, but she has promised to be back by 8pm and we have set our clocks!  Tommy is spending the day with is friend Damia, the Brittany girl across from us.

Supervisory SEIturday

Sei-Chan: Well, Dear Friends. #1 appears to be all mended. The past few days, she has been cutting and hauling wood as though she lived in some frontier! Actually, the imbeciles who manage the fields around our house (the self-same imbeciles who "raised" Violette) decided to trim all the hedges. Now hedges should be trimmed in the winter, when the vegetation is dormant, and not in the spring when everything has burst into bud or bloom, but these guys just did an indiscriminate hatchet job on everything with a big machine. #1 says it's really awful. A lot of the trees that are down are wild cherries. She knows their M.O. so is guessing they will leave the mess for a while and then burn everything in a big pile. So, she's been going in there and getting out what pieces she can. She could really have used one of the big Vs! It's hard work logging. Here is a photo of Tommy with the stash from the last two days:

Now, back to me. #1 also cleaned out her desk (or tried to) and the kitty space between the keyboard and screen, complete with Boogie Mat, has become available once again. It is perfect for interfering with her work supervising!

There is of course also the prime supervisory position atop  the desk:

So much supervising, so little time!

Have a great SEIturday!

Tama-Chan Thursday!

Tama-Chan : Hello Dear Friends! You didn't think I had given up my post altogether for this week, did you? Nope. Just moved it back a couple of days and here we are!

I shall start, if I may, with this week's dangle, which is a Sunpuddle Head Dangle. Hammocks are very convenient for this type of exercise as they provide good support for the rest of the body:

I have been having a relaxing time this past week:

Enjoying all manner of sunpuddles!

And hanging out with my little sis, Sei-Chan, as I often do:

I have no complaints!

Wednesday Whinnies - A Boy at Work!

Vidock: Neeeeighs, Everyone! I Hope you aren't getting bored with me. I promised that I would tell you a little more about my recent training, so here goes.

The work collar that I tried for the first time on Saturday is something that is used when we horses have to pull heavy loads. So that is what you see when a horse is ploughing, or logging, or in the big six or eight-horse hitches. It's a big deal to try one for the first time as some horses find it strange and uncomfortable, but I felt as though I had been born to it (which I have!).

Here is Mr. E adjusting the harness:

We went into the sand school and, at first, it was just the collar, harness and  swingle tree:

Then, Ms. S picked up the chain at the back of the swingle tree, to give it a little resistance:

After that, Mr. E added a smallish tire so that I could feel something dragging on the ground behind me:

And lastly, he put on a big, heavy tire so I had the combination of resistance and weight:

I thought it was pretty cool, and I can't wait for my next lesson!

And It was fun to have the girls watching me as I worked. Can you see Violette in this photo?

Her turn is also going to come although she has already tried a collar, I am told, and was really great with it.

After all that work, I got the full spa treatment from Mr. E!

Here is something cool to finish with. As I worked, #1 kept saying how much I looked like my Daddy, Orgueil. So when she went home, she made this collage. My Daddy is on the left and I am on the right. What do you think?

Tanjyobi Tuesday!!!!!

Genji: OK. I know. It's a bit of a stretch, but what is a boy to do? #1 almost forgot my birthday yesterday and so now, I find myself with a birthday post on Tuesday (Thank you, Tama-Chan, for letting me have your day). But then I had a thought. We do all have Japanese names and, in Japanese, birthday is TANJYOBI!!! Voilà (that is French, by the way. We're polyglots around here…).

I have to say that I did consider sulking:

But heck, that would have been NO FUN! So here are some baby pictures of me instead.

I guess it took me some time to grow into my ears:

And my paws…

But who could ever resist me?

Tommy has always been my buddy:

As is Da Beebs. Tee Hee..

This was me at one year old:

And at two years old:

And now, here I am at three, in the full bloom of my handsomeness!

#1 says I still haven't grown into my paws, though!

Although the rest of me is perfect!

And did I mention that I love my #1?
